Im not comparing religion to marxism. But in the bible there's many quotes and things written that people use as motivation and encouragement words for others.

I have a dear friend and she is been over worked and its un fair. She is on the brink of quitting.
As she should. I dont want to get into the details of her working enviroment and her bosses.
But she is rarely has any personal time to her self and is always stressed out.

I would like to send some words of encouragement her way. something to make her forget atleast for the time she reads this that she is better than this fuck ass job. and to keep her head up.
something of that sort. BUT something that comes from either Marx's writting or any other communist or revolutionary.

anything?

revolutionary leftism of any form, including marxism, isnt religion.

In that it isnt like, a comfort, so you can ignore how shitty things are.
Instead, it pushes your face straight into the pile of shit, and its up to you, up to all of us, to crall our way out of it.

R_P_A_S, you can tell her to be "hard as steel, clear as crystal" (Herman Gorter, Open Letter to Comrade Lenin) ...

But seriously, if you want to make someone feel better and fight hardness of life in a stronger way, you don't need to submit to a greater authority, wether that authority is an all-powerful ruler, god or a well knowledged intellectual doesn't really matter. Just do it your way.

This isnt Marxist per se, its anarchist, but its a revolutionary talking about perseverance and fighting for a goal, and its pretty inspiring: http://youtube.com/watch?v=LR7dNntU5oI

There's a pretty cool quote that I will paraphrase (and probaly butcher in the process)

"The role of philosophers is to interpret the world, the point is to change it."

You'll generally put someone to sleep quoting Marx before you can encourage them. :P

Anyways, that quote is "The philosophers have only interpreted the world, in various ways; the point is to change it.

I am not certain whether this would be appropriate (it would probably not, I guess), but here is one:

"You have nothing to lose but your chains, you have a world to win."

- Homer Simpson

Only as high as I reach can I grow, only as far as I seek can I go, only as deep as I look can I see, only as much as I dream can I be.”

Go for the moon. If you don't get it, you'll still be heading for a star.”
