I didn't like them until I realised how much like Fugazi they sound, a band I love. I'd say 'At Home He's A Tourist' is my favourite song.

They are ok but not great. Well, at least the Entertainment thing is.

gang of four is so great, i just got 'entertainment!' a few weeks ago
i like the line from "guns before butter" the best:

im hearing talk of joy in labor
ill tell you this, you can leave me out
im hearing talk of strength in labor
that's something i can do without

I didn't like them until I realised how much like Fugazi they sound

Rockin'.

Yeah, I heard Fugazi first but so what if they sound like Fugazi? Fugazi is an AWESOME band. It's good to sound like them. :)

And they're lyric matter is a lot different too. Gang of four seems more political.

I've heard of them, apparently they're Marxists.

Yeah allright, smartarse. I'm aware of that.

Pere Ubu had a song called chinese radiation that didn't mean they were chinese scienticianists.

Errr...I don't know if that's a quite accurate way of determining whether or not they're Marxists.

I don't think the Soviettes are pro-Soviet Union for instance. Haha.

I do believe they are though. ;)

<_< Obviously...

Did you even read my first post?

Fugazi lyrics are just as political, only slightly more oblique

Ahh...

Sorry about that.

*ducks for cover*

I find Gang of Four more political while Fugazi is political and also deals a lot with the emotional too. :)

I like Ether:

Trapped in heaven life style (locked in long kesh)
New looking out for pleasure (h-block torture)
It’s at the end of the rainbow (white noise in)
The happy ever after (a white room)

Dirt behind the daydream
Dirt behind the daydream
The happy ever after
Is at the end of the rainbow

Dig at the root of the problem (fly the flag on foreign soil)
It breaks your new dreams daily (h-block long kesh)
Fathers contradictions (censor six counties news)
And breaks your new dreams daily (each day more deaths)

...
