This is the one titled just "Malcolm X"?
It's pretty good, yeah - lets Malcolm speak for himself a lot.

i think so. it was only made up of archive footage and a voiceover (only really towards the start, and paraphrased from the book) and music (ahhh lost poets )

Yeah, the title is Malcolm X: His Own Story As It Really Happened
Its great, due to the archival footage they have of him speaking in different places
BTW: I highly recommend his auto, you really get to understand the man because its his own words edited by Alex Haley
Its one of my favs

I second the autobiography. It was one of the biggest influences on me becoming a leftist.
I haven't seen this documentary. What is it called?

As far as books, the autobiography's good, but the collections of his speeches are better.
Especially for his political evolution during the last part of his life. He did fewer interviews with Alex Haley then. You get some general idea in the Autobiography, but nothing like the full revolutionary picture.
