I am currently looking for some new books on people to read about and not neccesarily just people who are considered as leaders in communism and so on. Just leaders in general such as with civil rights, poetry, anything that is politically related. I will put my suggestions for people looking for the same.

The Art of War by Sun Tzu
The Autobiography of Malcolm X as told to Alex Haley
1984 by George Orwell (book of fiction, but I think this is an exception and George Orwell being considered a leader in his own right)
The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli
Versos Sencillos by Jose Marti ( get the dual-language edition which is both in spanish and english. Little more expensive...about 30 for a new copy, but worth it.)

I would suggest that folks read the works of Hayek and Friedman and then set to work on refuting them.

Walden - Henry David Thoreau

it's mostly just an interesting read.

The Social Contract - Jean-Jacques Rousseau

very good book, expands one's knowledge a bit.

Che Guevaras many biographies are good, they really put a lot of persective on certain aspects of life.

At one point in Che's life he had to make a decision to carry the ammo bag or the medicine bag. He took the ammo.
