By the way, I recall... there was a monument of Marx and Engels in Chisinau. They looked like old friends sitting on the bench and discussing something. Lovely monument, though not very revolutionary :) People always put between them a bottle of vodka or wine :D

The monument was destroyed by nationalistic vandals during the collapse of the USSR :angry:

Well, it was hollow and couldn't resist the onslaught :angry: This vandalising was showed on TV live. :(
The remains were demounted under the decision of the newly elected "independent" Parliament.
