My Poetic Revolution
I wake up the first thing I think about is the independence of Puerto Rico, someone ask me do you really believe in the independence of Puerto Rico? Then I say the independence of Puerto Rico is not just a political action or a political agenda but its also a state of mind. Revolutionist before me can tell you that a revolution its not just a political action but a way of thinking, behaving, its a way of life. So then that person said show me what the revolution is about, I take them to a place that a few has visited there is a house which no one can see but an eye of a revolutionist, we go towards the house I knock on the door two times. A man opens the door with a cigar in his mouth that man is no other then Fidel Castro, he embraces me and welcomes me to the house, Fidel then says If you are born by the revolution, live by the revolution then you die by THE REVOLUTION. Then once we inside the house on the sofa were two men sitting down having some coffee talking about how can a new revolution change the way even non oppressed citizens think, as I approached both men one of the revolutionist was no other then Dr.Pedro Albizu Campos El Maestro a Puerto Rican revolutionist. I introduced myself, then he says the revolution is just not an act against the powers that be, one of the most under look things that is part of the revolution if not the most important is that the revolution its about changes its about helping those who need help, those who struggle to live life just working and not been compensated for their hard work on the long run, a revolution should never be solely be against a tyranny government, but for those who oppose equality. Then the other person that was sitting on the sofa approaches me, he thank me for keeping there dream of a revolution alive as I shook his hand I realize it was a respected revolutionist and one of the most recognized images in this world it was non other then Ernesto el che Guevara, as we both started to conversed I stated I am saddened that your image is been sold all around the world yet people know very little of you. Then he said this does not angers me that my image is been plastered in clothing all over the world, but what angers me is that my words has not been spread around the world . Then I tell him that for him not to worry his words will be spread through out not just in our revolutionist community but through out the world. Then he tells me to always remember youre first day in this world is not only when you come out of your mothers womb, but when you have an understanding of what the revolution is when you are ready for a revolution then consider that your first day in this world. I agree with him I looked over the fire place there was this gentlemen zipping on the finest cognac this world can offer I approached him as he is standing in front of the fire place while staring at a painting of the South American continent he looks over his shoulder he tells me for every country that has a pulse for a revolution is a meaning that there is hunger for a change a change not coming from the higher tier of society but a change coming from the people that government institutions tend to ignore this are hard working citizens the laborers, teachers, mothers, farmers, and anyone who helps built a nation not by just words and laws but by the mere hands that god has given us. What he said hits the heart I introduce myself to him and he introduces himself to me he is no other then Simon Bolivar a South American revolutionist. Across the living room a woman calls me over with a big smile on her face, she says I am glad that a young man as you has a deep understanding of the revolution I said thank you maam, she shows me a title of a poem she is writing, the title goes no revolution, no justice as the title intrigues me I ask her what is the meaning of the revolution for you? Then she said I wrote a song about it its call The Borinquen I smiled as I came to realize she is no other then Lola Rodriguez de Tio a Puerto Rican poet and a revolutionist at that she says to me the revolution was my life if we must succeed at that, then we must accept our duties as human been to unite as one both men and women no matter what color, race, or language we must become one in order to create a better world to live. As I head towards the door ready to exit , a man taps my shoulder he looks at me with a serious face he gives me few items one was a pen and a piece of paper the other item was a loaded gun I stare at him wondering why he has given me such items then he said as our comrades can tell you the revolution its not an easy task it comes with a heavy price I told him that I understood that aspect of the revolution this man that I spoke with was non other then Jose Marti a Cuban revolutionist he tells me there has been many revolutionist through out history, however the ones you have heard of went the way of the pen and paper before the way of a violent action, I say to you please always write everything that your mind speak off when it comes to the revolution before anything always remember an old saying the pen its mightier then the sword if you die by a sword that means you use the pen if you die of old age believing in a revolution that means you never use the pen. I finally was able to show the other person I was with about the revolution while walking towards the door to exit the house I started to realize I was never with someone else all along it was just me I was showing myself what the revolution was all about then I came to an understanding of every struggle that the men and women of the revolution had to endure then before I exited the house I turn around I looked at all my comrades faces and said do not fear your words tonight is the words that I will spread around the world I will not start a revolution but I will finish the revolution as our countries shall not suffer no more, I will let no one question the revolution if someone questions the revolution then the revolution looses its purpose and for all struggles will never end we will always be looked at as an oppressed society but never more because my comrades words will be spread and actions will be taken.
