View Full Version : Lenin's Mausoleum

Lenin's Law

I was wondering what Comrades here thought about the Lenin Mausoleum in Moscow. Like many of you, I would like to pay my respects to this great revolutionary figure, however, as is well known, it was his intention not to have any memorial whatsoever commerorating his death. The Soviet state did so anyway.

So here is the question - Should Comrades not go to the Mausoleum and respect Lenin's wishes or being, that the Mausoleum is here and has been made available for so long now, go see it anyway in order to pay their respects. Also, one thing to consider is that perhaps because Lenin was so humble and selfless that makes it all the more reason why homage should be paid to such a person! After all, wouldn't we all feel much more uncomfortable had he said openly that he wanted giant memorials to be made in his honor to show off how great he was?

I would like the opinion of Comrades only on this question. Capitalists, reactionaries, liberals, etc need not reply.

Lenin wanted to be buried next to his loved ones in a working-class grave, not put on display. I think he should be buried and his body left to naturally rot as he wished.

To be honest I think it is an insult to his memory to use his body in a way that he would have despised. The Soviet State tried to turn Lenin into some Deity when he would have been the absolute first to say he was human. It was his wwish to have a simple burial next to his mother's grave. That should have been respected.
