There is quite the hub-bub going around Montreal lately about the city's new plan to crack down on graffiti "crimes". The focus of their war is on making it illegal for anyone under 18 to purchase spraypaint cans.

Unfortunately (for the city), the majority of those who crawl around the city at 3AM are in their 20s and 30s (and even higher!) Still, this attempt at cracking down on artistic youths is unforgivable, so let's fight back with a good ol' fashioned graffiti propaganda war!

So yes, this is a call out to all Montreal-area graffiti kids and adults to whip out your cans and start applying some lovely revolutionary motifs to any and all architecture here in the city. Only rule is USE YOUR BRAIN when choosing your targets... don't go riddling some low-income housing with graffiti, they have enough to worry about without waking up to find their front door has been repainted.. Instead focus your attention on federal targets, commercial targets, expensive cars and houses... invade Westmount and go nuts!

And for all of you not living in Montreal, feel free to do the same. We need to get the message out and show we are no longer an underground force. Tag your city up with symbols of the Revolution, show that we are still here.

I fully agree with this!

The capitalists have billions to spend on propaganda; they can afford to spread their views through TV, radio, newspapers, movies, billboards etc. Each and every day, when we take the subway, when we walk on the street, our environment is full of advertisements for their companies. We rarely hear city officials or police officers complain about the omnipresence of that type of messages!

We, anticapitalists, won't have enough resources to compete with the bourgeoisie if we stick to their rules. Leafleft distribution is essential, but it's better to complete it with posters and graffiti. Fuck their laws!

Wallpaper paste is the best way to put posters in the streets:
