Do any of you know in detail the situation in Oaxaca that started with the teacher's strike? I know that they have taken the city over, and there is no more police. My dad has contacts in Oaxaca because of the work that he did with indigenous peoples. He tells me that the people that have taken over are not in it for a short time. He says that this is process of decades for the people and that they will not cede the city to the capitalists. He will allow to visit Oaxaca in December, even though Im 16. He has friends there, so I cant wait. So whats up there?
