how were they live? (im sure you couldnt enjoy it too much if you dont like them.... but did they have a nice stage presence, any funy banter etc)

Let me put it this way, I have seen dozens of live bands and the GLC are the only one I have ever been so 'far removed from my taste' that I left the building.

They were playing for my university May Ball - thankfully a few hours later Jules Holland was playing, (I don't like his stuff either) and he was smashing live, so the event wasn't a total loss.

There wasn't much banter as I recall, they trooped round the stage waving their hands while rapping badly using mildly amusing lyrics.

Heres a challenge for you.
Listen to the above song and then listen to 'New Millenium Homes' by Rage Against The Machine. Goldie Looking Chain just ripped them off.

i read the lyrics to the rage song, and you can hardly say GLC ripped them off.

unless the music is very similiar, which i would understand. (though i doubt that)

There is not even a remote similarity. The two songs are about as similar as Children of Bodom are to Coldplay; for those unfamiliar with either of the two bands, there is no similarity.

Its the riff in the sons I'm talking about. If the lyrics or anything else was the same that would be copyright infringment. Listen to the riff. Are you familiar with the two songs?

If you start like that, any band has ripped of another.

I have them both, and again I state that there is no similarity what so ever.

I shouldn't bother, its rubbish. It is perhaps the most boring rage song I have the misfortune to have wasting my harddrive space - and from rage that is quite some achievement.

In alphabetical order, these are some of the bands I currently have on my driving to university playlist (it takes 4-5 hours so its quite long): -

Arcade Fire, Babyshambles, Bad religion, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Blind Guardian, Blondie, Blur, British Sea Power, Catatonia, Children of Bodom, Chumbawamba, cKy, The Clash, Cranberries, Deep Blue Something, Deftones, Demons and Wizards, Depeche Mode, The Diviynals, Dragon Force, Dream Theatre, The Dwarves, Echo and the Bunnymen, Electric Light orchestra, Element eighty, Emperor (but this is complete shit) Eric Clapton, Faithless, Feeder, Freak Kitchen, Fun lovin Criminals, Gary Numan, Gorillaz, Grandaddy, Greenday, Guano Apes, Hammerfall, Hundred Reasons, Iced earth, Idlewild, In Flames, Incubus, Interpol, Iron Maiden, James, Joy Division, Killswitch Engage... etc.

I'm bored now, but I guess you get the idea, my tastes cover pretty much any genre. Though this playlist has a lot of rock, metal and indie.

I take them about as seriously as they take them selves.

However, having said that, nothing beats a little 'Fury of the Storm' in an M6/M25 traffic jam.

it's interesting that you said that because i don't kno wmuch about the band. i could never tell if they take themselves really seriously or if its a joke. i swear in some of their videos you can see the waves of "I AM FUCKING AWESOME" coming off of those guys... :D they are for sure talented players though.

I have been listening to greenday for about 7 years (13-14 at the time) and I make no apologies, I am not going to stop because you got screwed over by your ex.

PS, I missed out A perfect Circle.
