So I was browsing the blues section of this CD store a few days ago and I came accross a CD called Mule Bone by Taj Mahal, with tunes written by Taj Mahal using lyrics from Langston Hughes's poetry which accompanied his play, Mule Bone.
And this CD was only R$10.
I mean, I doubt there's too much doubt that Taj Mahal is the best bluesman of recent times... coupled with Langston Hughes. Of course, I was not disapointed. There may be a few weak spots, but overall this is a phenomenal recording. I almost cried. Seriously. This is very under rated album... but if you like contemporary blues, definitely get it if you can. There are songs on this CD that rival any blues classic by BB King, Albert King, or whoever.
