This guy can fucking rhyme. I do believe the foundation of his ideas are communist, but it's hard to place, because all-in-all, they're simply revolutionary. Or maybe I'm not listening closely enough.

There's also a local band here in gainesville i wish you guys could hear called SongRiot. Their singer, Lars Din, writes amazing lyrics. The band is made up of an accordian, guitar, mandolin, string bass, and a trumpet. And if Lars decides he wants me playing cello for him, cello. Overall it sounds like a folk version of punk. It's also ridiculously communist.

IT's been discussed a great number of times

IT's blog (http://www.revolutionaryleft.com/index.php?showtopic=53289)

So yeah...IMO IT's no communist nor socialist
He's just radical MC taking advantage of the whole "revolutionary" image
He's got some reactionary aspects to his music (sexism, homophobia, conspiracy theories,...)
So not my fav, check outSun RA (http://www.bareregular.com/sunriseabove/enter.html)

Welcome to RevLeft BTW :D

havent checked out sun ra. i'll check him out tonight when i get home. IT is one of my favorite rappers and is extended fam (AYAK) despite the reasons the poster above astutely pointed out.

if you haven't checked sabac red out yet, i strongly suggest you should. he was a member of non-phixion and came out with a great solo album called Sabacolypse.

SRA and Zearle's rhymes and beats don't sound as good as Immortal techiniques or The Coup.

True, Zearle is IMO tone-deaf

But Sun RA, the guy is good...his beats might not be up to par with IT's, but then again, SRA is true underground
And his lyrics are tight...their alot more straight forward and socialist than IT's
To each his own I guess.....
