View Full Version : youtube.com and communism

I've become more and more interested in Youtube.com and, though I also think that it's a fad in some places, it is very interesting. A place where individuals make their own television shows, kind of like public access but with fewer restrictions and more freedom in content creation. With the idea that any individual can create any sort of show he or she wants and has complete control over the content therein, I submit that Youtube.com is a model for entertainment and television within a communist society.

Hmm...it would be an effective tool for communist propaganda too, if anyone had the skills to create quality videos.

Youtube's great.
You can find so many things on there that wouldn't be found on the television or on the radio or even in a newspaper.
Yeah, I suppose people could submit stuff, like communist videos
I'd try . . .but I can't use a video camera o_O.

Yeah, but if it's objectionable to people then it will be "blocked". I also think that the Youtube idea is a good thing though there may be a backlash soon against it by corporations due to copyright violations, etc.

According to Slashdot, the Universal Music Group is preparing a round of lawsuits.

Despite whatever lawsuits may come, this technology allows for far more direct access to media and it has been gleefully adopted by millions. I think its here to stay. Anyone have any interesting Marxist-related YouTube video links?

I'm a big enthusiast for this kind of technology. Innovations like this will be practical technologies that allow for everyone to share culture and information, a prerequisite for communism, even if this is up to this point a primitive example.
There's a few marxist-oriented vids I've seen, I wish there were more. I've seen a lot of antifascist stuff.
Soviet Anthem (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88GZGhTad38)
Animated Soviet Propaganda (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L66r-RVKJpQ)
You May Be a Communist - very funny cold war propaganda (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BonLVVt10a4)
International Brigade Irish Veteran Speech part 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEvnK_Mxcow) and Part 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwbDOP9jSx4)

Ye, I've seen the Communist riot before, its in my favourties. Hehe, its the funniest thing I've seen, especially with the two guys rolling that lorry tire into the riot cops, and when the riot cops retreat in the end.
