The NPA is the armed wing of the Communist Party Philippines. They are a Maoist party. Very good communist party, their attacks hardly ever involve civilains too.

They are making great advances too. They have a long and profound history of struggle.

I understand, Comrade. Forgive my ignorance. I am new here and forgot that there are others who wish to do harm to places that we can discuss openly our theories and Ideologies with like minded people :)

Yep, the party I have almost joined as a full member supports these guys.
I've only heard good things about them, so far.
Check the ILPS link. Jose Maria Sison is the chairman of that International he is the leader of the NPA.
The NPA also have links with some radical trade union.
They are also more powerful and operate in more provinces than the Islamist reactionaries.

He is not the leader of the NPA, but the CPP rather.

Jose Maria Sison used to lead the CPP, and at the same time one of the writers of its newspaper Ang Bayan (The Community). NPA is lead by a commander-in-chief, but not Joema.
But I remember during its foundation, Joma controlled the CPP while the NPA was controlled by Bernabe "Ka Dante" Buscayno. Followed by "Kumander Bilog" Salas, and the notorious (now punished by the party) Romulo Kintanar.
