What do you all think of Amnesty International? Is it a worthwhile organization for a communist to be a part of? comments please

There is no communist sentiment at all within the organization, but its a generally reformist/human rights organization. It criticizes all regimes based on their formal-inhumane treatment of their prisoners/others, and such.

I don't know, but I would be curious to know myself. I might sign up for personal gain (ie. look where I volunteer), but I don't know that they actually do anything aside from expose inhumane practices and then try to reform them. Exposing them, however, is beneficial while reformism may or may not work.

They seem to ignore a lot of the inhumane practices that go on in America.

yeah, thats true. Im sure that it would be greatly more beneficial to join a revolutionary organization, but I was considering something like AI.

They banned The Revolution Will Not Be Televised from their international film festival a few years ago. This ended my support for the organization.
