You may convert it into .avi

Or try this:

Yeah I was just wondering, I don't bother with ripping stuff from youtube. Most of it's a bunch of crap but will consider using some in a short movie I'm making.

Useful, my friends use YouTube to stash stuff we film on the Net, so this'll be good to have. Cheers :)

Thanks. Uhh, how does one convert into .avi format? All I get in the window is an option to grab.

Try the link Taiga posted above.

You just gotta find an FLV player (much easier than converting files), like this one for example:

Can you make a VCD with FLV files?

Um. What do I use to extract it? (StuffIt doesn't seem to like the format)

.rar files? Use 7Zip or the WinZip trial.

For converting--google "total video converter" and use the free 15-day trial. You can convert to just about any format.

http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php# this site works in a similar way, it works on a lot of similar sites as well

it also has a downloadable plugin for firefox which enables you to download pretty much any video which is on the page you're viewing at the click of a button

I have the VideoDownloader plugin for Firefox, it's way easier- just click it while you're viewing the video and it downloads instantly. I also got DownThemAll -another FF plugin. You can get all these and more at the official FF extension pages ("Extra", "Extensions", "Get more extensions")

to get vids from youtube u can also use that same flv player and then use keepvid.com which will convert it for u or whatever it does.

the screen is real small but if u want a vid, its an option.
