Hey all,

Here are a selection of articles from the past week I've found that go into
some detail about the current state of imperialism/resistance in Iraq,
Afghanistan, Lebanon and Palestine. Read these with an eye on the big
anti-war teach-in/conference set for next Friday, September 15 at UTS.
This event is gaining some real momentum, with people coming from
Wollongong, Newcastle and UWS as well as the city campuses.

No, not wrong at all! I'll be there with my Wollongong posse, for sure. It's actually looking as if it'll be rather good. You'll be there?

Oh, I thought overall it was rather good. There were some fairly interesting discussions and debates but best of all, actions were decided upon. Most of which seemed like good ideas. To have a student bloc at the rally next Thursday, to picket in front of army recruitment ... places, I guess and a statewide Palestinian week seems like fairly solid ideas to me.

How about you?

Your action at UTS sounded great, though. I wish we could have it at Wollongong :(

i thought it was not bad, although i felt bad for walking in and out the whole day (i needed to finish my painting by 6pm)

but i dunno, i find that in that kind of environment it's not really a proper discussion or debate that takes place, because people talk for so long and so it limits the number of people that can talk and it's also difficult to respond to people's individual points. i also feel that when that happens the same few people end up talking each time (usually the people who are able to talk for that long and have figured out what they wanna say already) which isn't the best.

but ye, it was still good :)

oooooooh if you have an action like that at w'gong let me know and i'll try and come down for it :D
