How do you cover your face? What do you use, how do you tie it?

I'd prefer to do it like the guy in the middle of this (http://burnthisflag.com/anarchistsinthestreet.jpg) picture.

Thanks.

Just ignore the whole ninja part, it actually works pretty well and is easy to make.

You can also just buy as ski mask.

I made my self a black mask once, but now I think I will just use red scout scarfs.

Also a balaclava to cover the hair etc.

Liandri Corporation: You might want to secure your sever a little better. Or at least put an index page at the root so that people can't see what else you have. 'Cause I went looking for a cool site and I didn't find one. But I did find a photo that could have been you.

To do this, just create a text file called index.html with

<html><head><title>Burn This Flag</title></head><body>Burn This Flag is underdeveolopent (or what everelse you want here</body></html>
And that should work if you have a decent webserver. If you have a crap one, you might have to point the server at the file, but I wouldn&#39;t know how to do this.

Thank you. Even though I don&#39;t normally put pictures of myself on there (and that wasn&#39;t me), I made an index page.

Thanks for the help guys.

Just use a standard SWAT balaclava. Cotton or synthetic, breathable, and won&#39;t slip. Pull it over your head, then pull it down past your head so it is around your neck, and tuck it under the collar of your shirt, concealing it until use.

T-shirt and bandana methods are too easy to have pulled off, accidentally or intentionally.

And while you are shopping at the police supply store, get sap gloves. I can&#39;t recommend these enough. And police know they don&#39;t qualify as a concealed weapon, because they use them themselves. "Precision Weighted Driving Gloves" is their slang.

the t shirt thing is very handy and unsuspicous ("I carry around an extra t shirt because I&#39;m going to a party and I need a t-shirt for the next morning that isn&#39;t sweaty or smokey")
or when it&#39;s colder, just use a scarf and something to cover your head (how do you call those warm things without cap or anything?)

Also safer for the wielder. A lot of people use brass knuckles straight on, which will can break your fingers, have to use them in a rolling punch.

But with these, hell, fighting is almost comfortable. Leaves hands soft and moisturized :D Also, people do not see these coming.

What would people who have experience in this sort of thing (ie rioting, or getting smacked upside the head a lot) recommend for coverage of the face combined with decent protection for the head? I&#39;ve watched a couple of riot videos and most guys seem to get taken down by bastard police batons to the head.

Cheap and common solution is a low end full face motorcycle helmet with a shatterproof visor. (&#036;50 for lowend)

If you see someone walking down the street carrying a motorcycle helmet, you won&#39;t think twice. If they have leather gloves on (actually SAP gloves), black jeans, boots, leather jacket (slows knives and is good padding), you still won&#39;t think twice. They are just a biker.

They quick reach under their collar, pull up a balaclava, slam on the helmet, and they are ready to rock and roll.

Also, helmet collars are designed to stop the helmet from being pulled off (by a cop or the pavement).

That being said, if your head and neck (by the jacket collar) are protected, the baton will be heading for the back of your knees, so protect your peroneal nerve with some padding (put on soft knee pads under your jeans, and then put a folded hankerchief against the back of your knee inside the elastic).

If by "sus" you mean white middle class college students with revolutionary pretentions, then I suppose you may be correct.

If however, you meant the numerous working class resistance resistance movements fighting against capitalist despotism and imperialism, then I&#39;d have to say no.

That EZLN photo at top is simply beautiful.

Good example of camo ski masks as well.

And for those of you who don&#39;t want to be caught with a ski mask in your pocket, do what the Russians do and roll it up into a button shaped hat on top of your head; it hides the pattern and no cop would ever figure out what it was just by looking at it. The downside is that it offers little protection of the head.

Here in Germany they have shit loads of cameras in the Police front line and it&#39;s technically illegal to cover your face at a demo. Not that they really enforce it when kids are setting dumpsters on fire. I think they have their hands full.

I personally like the classic black hoodie with sunglasses, although I&#39;m sure a bandana as well would have helped keep me out of footage from last May day...

A friend of mine wrote a song about Oka years ago. The lyrics basically were about how it was the first time in her young life that she was ashamed to call herself Canadian. Sorry to get off topic...

Not sure if this is already posted yet somewhere.

Surveillance Masking up makes it difficult to identify individuals in a crowd and if everyone masks up no one will stand out. The cut off sleeve of a long sleeved t-shirt makes a good mask. Wear it casually around your neck. If you wear glasses use a cut off section of a short stocking (hold-ups work best as they have thick elastic) instead of a t-shirt, this prevents glasses from steaming up. You can use it as a hair tie, if you’re a hippy type, until you need it. A hooded top will cover most of your face and a baseball cap on its own provides good protection from most static cameras, which are usually mounted high up. Sunglasses give good protection against harmful rays including UV and CCTV.

Um, wouldn&#39;t it be kind of pointless to wear the gas mask over the ski mask? I&#39;m pretty sure the fabric will just wick the gas or spray right in to your nose and mouth.
and thats primarily what i use the mask for i have a couple other masks that cover my whole face. I usually just wear that mask as a sort of &#39;show&#39; mask as a shock value to draw attention to myself when im at smaller protests so that whatever sort of large propaganda i might be holding or if I encounter bystanders walking on the sidewalks during one such protest they usually come talk to me and thats a good way of sort of &#39;putting my foot in the door&#39; as to talk to people about whatever i may be protesting or anarchy or anything really.

I usually bring another mask with me in case things go violent, a more &#39;useful&#39; mask so to speak

I have three outer-wear jackets that I use: A leather jacket with a pair of wings on the back, a navy blazer with a few ska patches on it, and an uberly old Offspring sweater (featuring the nice little Aryan child holding the cockroach on the front from Americana; very funny at Antifa stuff) held together at the seems mostly with safety pins.
The leather jacket holds two oversized Skull & Crossbones bandannas, the Ska jacket keeps a blue bandanna in the inner breast pocket, and the sweater I just keep a ski mask with me while wearing.

ah i think it&#39;s also because you can be identified and through that it can identify groups and other people. it&#39;s just safer for no names or pics to be used.

I&#39;ve always thought it would be great for a black-bloc to have matching black riot shields with "Rioter" instead of "Police".

what&#39;s better is to cut a contstruction cylinders in half. That&#39;s more DIY and cheaper than buying things that a cop might have touched. Also, for masking I usually where a bandana and some sort of hat depending on the weather. If things get ugly, I have a pair of ski goggles with me in my bag. If things get really, really ugly I carry a hammer and sickle with me at all times so yeah

This thread inspired me to try out the T-Shirt method. It worked out pretty well I think.

I found some wacky glasses that I used last Halloween so I put those on too. I think I like silly with them but at least my identity is protected.

I either use the usual bandana (Which doesn&#39;t work particularly well - one time a cop pulled it off my face when I was arguing with him)
The new thing i&#39;ve been using is a scarf.
You wrap it around the lower part of your face, so it covers everything just below your eyes.
And with that, a jumper with a hood.
I&#39;ll get a photo...one day.

Fuck that. What would be really bad ass is wearing a welding mask. Yeah you might not be able to see much but at least you&#39;ll look like a bad ass.
