I remember reading, and i cant recall if it was on here or not (probably was) but if you remove a police car license plate that car cannot be used until a new license plate can be put on it and that takes weeks, so if any of u live by any cop shops, which im sure you do becuz they are everywhere, stroll on down, remove some plates, you can even leave them there all mixed up and take off

****I AM NOT CONDONING THIS ACTIVITY, IT IS AGAINST THE LAW THIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY! DO NOT ACTUALLY ATTEMPT!***

I have heard from somewhere it's quite easy and all you need is a screwdriver and an accomplice.
I have also heard it is best to remove the back licence plate.

Of course this is all theory, by no means
I encourage anyone to do this.

I seriously doubt that police cars wouldn't have tamper resistant screws. I mean, members of the general public have access to those, I'm sure the police would use non-reversable bolts.

That being said I'm sure going to check :)

well-informed sources have told me that licence plates from Belgian police cars are easy to screw off with a simple screwdriver, about the size of the one you get in a pocket knife, although some may have cross screws.

I've head this aswell, but mainly from american people, because the front one isn't obligatory.

yea i checked it out, the so called 'unmarked' cars, the ones that are just white, have just the normal screws that you can unscrew, some of the patrol cars had these little black caps that you could pop off. Yea in most states the front license plate isnt obligatory but the back one is but you would want to take them both cuz couldnt they just put the front one on the back temporarily. Again NOONE should attempt this.

It would be faster to just spray paint over it, so as to make the license plate illegible.

Now that we know the results of stealing or changing the cops' license plates, the question is....what would the punishment be for trying or doing it?

In theory, so long as they don't understand your intention, it's petty theft or vandalism. Worst case class C misdemeanor, 30 days, and that's a stretch.

hmmm, but the fact that it's against a police vehicle makes your case a lot worse.
