Has anyone seen the Mark Steel lectures? I've seen a couple now and they're genius. Annoyingly, I have managed to miss them up until now, partly because I had no knowledge of their existence, despite being a fan of his books.
The two I HAVE seen are one Che Guevara, and Charles Darwin. Unexpectedly I thought the Darwin one was funnier, probably because I was very tired when I saw the Che one. But still, this is one funnier than the other, with both within the scale hilariousness.
The problem is that I don't think they're out on DVD. They are out on CD, but being sold at the typical BBC ripoff rate that stops me from buying Doctor Who.
So my plan is basically to spread the word, until enough lots more people are aware of these Lectures and contributing to filesharing...
MARK STEEL RULES! (even if he is a damn dirty swip!)

Enjoy. All the lectures, also his "solution" and "revolution" series, which is just as good.
Server is a bit slow sometimes, and down 5% of the time.

The Karl Marx one was brilliant.

I've listened to Mark Steel for a year or so, I'd like to go and see one of his lectures.
I love his housing solution :D

He's a long-time member of the SWP, I have a friend who has met him a few times and apparently he's a nice enough guy.
He's been on British TV entertainment programs quite a bit, stuff like 'Have I Got News For You.'

Thanks for the link rev-stoic. I have been looking for ages for Mark Steel stuff. I've seen all his lectures on BBC tv and they are top-class. His cynical, sarcastic tone is something to behold and he's one of us.

Persynally, I found his lecture on Che to be very stupid and insulting. They picked a stupid looking guy to play Che and made him look goofy. Maybe I don't have a sense of humour when it comes to these things, but I thought it was garbage.

I don't like how he called the Soviet Union communist....
It's pretty funny though, if a bit facile.

The one about Byron was good.
A Qoute from Mark Steel:
"You have to respect David Blunkett, because despite his disablility and the trouble it has caused him, he has over come it to become the most horrible bastard in the country"
