This is something amazing that I came across a few months ago, in my random travels across the internet: SHOUTcast. It's a free internet radio service that allows one to stream any audio to it, provided you already have a digital copy that will play. It also allows one to make use of a microphone in order to speak live on the station. Here's how to get started:

I. Required Items
- 1 Functional Computer with Windows.
- 1 Functional Internet Connection (DSL at least is good)
- 1 Functional Microphone
- 1 Working Brain Inside Your Head
- 1 Working Body
...

II. Procedure
1. If you haven't done so in the past, go to Winamp's website, download, and install the latest version of the player.
2. Go to the SHOUTcast homepage.
3. Click "download" in the yellow bar towards the beginning of the page.
4. Of the three choices in the body of the next page, click "be a d.j.".
5. In the next page, scroll down to the section titled "Download the SHOUTcast DSP Plug-In for Winamp 5.x".
6. In this section, click "click here".
7. Run the installer that downloads as a result of clicking "click here".
8. In your browser, navigate back to the page with the three choices. Click on "be a server".
9. Click on "PROCEED TO LICENSE AGREEMENT TO DOWNLOAD SHOUTCAST DNAS"
10. Click on "Proceed to Downloading" at the bottom of the agreement.
11. Click on "DOWNLOAD" next to "SHOUTcast WIN32 Console/GUI server v1.9.7".
12. Install the DNAS with GUI.
13. Replace C:\Program Files\SHOUTcast\sc_serv.ini with the attached sc_serv.ini
14. Start the SHOUTcast DNAS GUI.
15. Start Winamp.
16. Go to Options > Preferences.
17. Go to Plugins > DSP/Effect in the side menu.
18. Select "Nullsoft SHOUTcast Source DSP v1.9.0 [dsp_sc.dll]" in the menu.
19. In the window that comes up, titled "SHOUTcast Source", select the "Output" tab.
20. Select "Output 1".
21. Enter the following information as you like it: Description, URL, Genre, AIM, ICQ, IRC.
22. Select the "Encoder" tab.
23. Select "Encoder 1".
24. Select the Encoder Type "AAC+ Encoder", and click the Encoder settings button.
25. In the new window, titled "AAC+ Encoder Options", click aacPlus v2, select the Bitrate "48 kbps", and select the Options "44100hz (Parametric Stereo)".
26. Click OK.

---Streaming from files---
1. In winamp, make a playlist, and start playing the files.
2. In the SHOUTcast Source window, select the "Input" tab.
3. Select the Input Device "Winamp (Recommended)".
4. Select the "Output" tab.
5. Click "Connect".

---Streaming from a microphone or other live input device---
1. Connect the microphone or live input device.
2. In the SHOUTcast Source window, select the "Input" tab.
3. Select the Device "Soundcard Input".
4. Start talking.

Well you make it sound so simple, yet at step one I already am fucked.
