If I recall correctly, Septeto Nacional has some fairly good music. The group is almost historic, one may say, considering they started in 1927. And they still exist today.
Maybe you will discover some bands you may fancy if you do some searches on Cuban genres:
Timba, Reagaton, Danzon, Salsa, Rhumba, Son, Guajira, Mambo, Jazz, Charanga
Also, maybe doing some research on Jazz will provide to be worthwhile, considering there are apparently two types of Latin Jazz; One of them the Brazilian and the other one being the Afro-Cuban.
At the local library around here there is apparently a group called Septeto Habanero. I haven't borrowed yet though, so I cannot tell you if it is recommendable. I'll tell you when I have though! :)
