Today in Manchester I was handed this leaflet, and I wondered if anyone else was going to this, and is it worth the time/effort?
(sorry for the stains on the page, my spring roll was in my bag and it was very greasy :D )

I've heard Stop The War is an SWP front. The leaflet also fails to mention any sort of Socialist program or the Iraqi working-class. If you can find out if there is a proper Socialist contingent involved in this (not Hezbollah-SWP) then you should go with the red bloc.

"Get your church or mosque to oppose the war"

Sorry for the resurrection, but the event is this Saturday, there's an estimated 30,000 people going to be there. Still not sure whether or not I can go, I'll find out tomorrow.

If you live in or near Manchester, then it might be worth going to.

Yeah I went there were many people from different fronts, the Communist party, New Communist Party, FRFI, British-Muslim Initiative, SWP and many more organisations...

Who cares? I wouldn't care if it's a Tory Party front as long as the demonstration is a clear statement that there are people who want war stopped. Anyway, the Stop The War Coalition is precisely that - a coalition of hundreds of highly disparate groups and thousands of individuals who all have the same objective. If the coalition was started because the SWP got off its arse and got it started, good - at least someone did.

By the way - the Coalition say that 60,000 attended, the police 20,000. :)
