Protest against the Cuban embargo, Trade and Travel restrictions
Counter-protesters expected, the media has been invited

Al Fox, Cuban-Americans, and other members of the Tampa community will
voice their opposition to existing trade and travel restrictions with
the sovereign Republic of Cuba. Numerous studies show ending the Cuban
embargo would bring an estimated **$200 million dollars** of business to
the Port of Tampa in the first year alone, and the same to Tampa
International Airport.

Under current law, American citizens are forbidden to travel to Cuba and
Cuban-Americans can only visit their family once every three years!
Why, when Cuba has no standing military and is not a threat to our
national security? Our current U.S. policy driven by Miami-Cuban
extremists is a breach of our fundamental freedom as Americans to travel
where we choose. At the same time, U.S. businesses are left behind
while Spain, Canada, and China reap vast benefits from increased trade
with Cuba.

Moreover, this is becoming an issue of **national security**. As we all
know, China now controls the Panama Canal and is expanding their
influence over Central and South America. As China continues to enhance
economic and diplomatic relations with Cuba, it is in the interest of
our national security to have free and open exchange with Cuba. We all
remember the Cuban Missile Crisis.
