What books by Vladimir Lenin and Leon Trotsky do you recommend I read? I've read The State and Revolution, What is to be done?, and The Immediate Tasks of the Soviet Government, and The Transitional Program for Socialist Revolution and the first volume of The History of the Russian Revolution.

I would definately recommend:

Revisionism in Russia: Trotsky Against the Bolsheviks
*Part 1 - to 1914 (http://www.allianceml.com/CommunistLeague/Compass2-Trotsky1975.htm)
*Part 2 - 1914-1917 (http://www.allianceml.com/CommunistLeague/Compass3-Trotsky2-1975.htm)

It should clear quite a few things up for you!

Then read about the myth that Trotsky was the great single handed leader that led the Red Army to Civil war victory:

Read April Thesis by Lenin. It is interesting but not exactly a book

As for Trotksy, well, it is boring as hell, so I wont reccomend any of what I've read.

Oh and if you are a Leninist read Bordiga :)
