After a bit of, uh, shopping today, I've determined I look stupid as hell in a motorcycle helmet. So post up your pics of riotous folks in helmets, so I can figure out what the hell I am doing wrong!

get yourself one of those baseball hardhats, i alway thought those look awsome. Either that or get a police harhat that may have fallen on the floor, by some chance, or an event which you had no possible participation in. At all.

I guess if I weren't fond of (modern) history I wouldn't have to write this:

Please, do not use an authentic one as a motor cycle helmet (or for protests) :( ! People buy them in a (collector's shop) and paint them in silver, white, whatever, and then it becomes worthless. Authentic german helmets are a collector's item and shouldn't be use as a motor cycle helmet  !

IMO you can use SWAT helmets, police helmets, american helmets (the types used during WW2, the korean war, vietnam... those were in production for half a century....whatever, as long as it hasn't become a collector's item already.

PS: You can say German helmets were also in production for almost half a century, consider this: germany has made 4 types during world war one, and 3 or 4 during WW2. About 10,000,000 Germans have died, and after each war tons of helmets were collected for other use. That means that for each type there aren't that much left.

The baseball batting helmet idea actually struck me as a rather good one, especially because no matter what city you are in, with a set of lockpicks and bolt cutters and a quick drive around you could equip an entire mob with no financial outlay.

It's odd I've never looked at those baseball diamond storage boxes in this light before. Low tech arms cache (bats and helmets).

i think coming too well armoured to a demo is a bit...alienating from "ordinary" people.

Unless in revolutionary times ofcourse
but do you see any?

just use shin protection one your shins and forearms, no-one will notice and you're well protected.

EDIT: how about this helmet?

I just added this because I was wondering how someone gets in a situation like this?

Generally you don't bust out the heavy gear until it is needed.
