And I have concluded that communism is no longer necessary in the modern world.

I mean, lets for a moment consider our possessions. Thanks to recent property booms throughout the earth, most of us live in houses worth at least one million. So if a worker say loses his job, he could just sell that and live off the proceeds for the next 20 years. No need to strike or anything.

If he didn't have a house, he could at least sell his car or family airlooms like the family silver or ferrari or Rolls or whatever they kept in the family, and he'd still have monehy. Or he could say, put off installing that outdoor spa or something till he could get money to pay for whatever is needed.

Even if he didn't sell his house, he could just rent out all the spare bedrooms and all the extra rooms which never get used and just sit gather dust. The sort of rooms where you open a door one day and you can't remember seeing that room before, or you didn't even know it was there... So what have you lost by renting it out?

So wha't sthis communist stuff for anyway? Its easy to come up with money.

You are so right. Thanks for showing me the folly of my ways. I'll just sell my mansion. Thanks!

I was thinking about doing a point-by-point analysis of your "arguement" but I'm starting to think I'd bust a blood vessel at your sheer lack of understanding of this world, 1st, 3rd, or otherwise.

Alright, just so you know, people who physically own a piece of property in this world to call their own are in the minority on this Earth. People who are homeless do not own a Ferrari, Rolls Royce, or any other form of luxury car; most of them are lucky to own a car. I'd know, as I spent my first ten years squatting. The concept of "family silver" is not a necessity, and therefore is passed down only in familys of wealth. Families of wealth leave inheritance, as I doubt a family would loose their wealth before loosing their silver.

I'd like you to take a stroll through Harlem, or through the rough parts of Chicago. Look at the rest of us, cause you'll be seeing a lot of us soon.

Dinosaur game!

Anyway, if everyone sold their mansion, the price of land would plummet. Then we would have to introduce communism then!

Also had a look in the underdeveloped world recently? It ain't like here in the overdeveloped world.

Yup, the majority of people are as rich as that. And as ebenezzer stated, noone is starving in America. Or in other countries. We all are well-to-do and our "communist" debates are nothing more than a hobby because we are so bored.

When did you fell down from the Moon?

Since when?

Even for the most people who do buy big houses, they end up taking out huge mortages to pay for them. So, it's really the bank that owns most of these houses.

I rather suspect the OP is joking.

This is rather humorous.

Do you really think that a majority of people have a million dollar home, or an expensive family heirloom?

Dream on. <_<
