I am curious as to what kind of jobs you people work at.
It seems like people with radical political ideas (anarchists, nazis, goths) are not part of the real world and don't contribute to society. They just want to dress like clowns, chant and destroy property.
What is so wrong with studying, working hard and getting a good job? Do you guys hate anyone that makes over $20,000 a year? 25k?

Yeah, there's a strict formula, a penny over $20k is evil

Most people get into left wing politics through the Trade Unions. They join their unions to improve their living standards, because they work their arse off for a shitty wage. Left wing politics are just the next step.
Nazis arent radical, they are just dicks. There's nothing revolutionary about racism, it is however very backwards. Goths dont have a political movment, they are just a social click like emos and chavs.
Theres nothing wrong with working hard ans getting a degree so you can get a large wage packet every year. The problem is that you could be smarter than Steven Hawking but if you're from a working class family chances are you wont be able to afford to go to university

That's sad and true. I mean, the middle class do not have much going for them, they can't work any job and expect to keep it these days, but they cannot build up for a better life by starting their own business because of regulations. Either way you look at it, the left and right are both wrong.

Many of the kids here are from the suburbs. I live in an upper-middle class suburb, and it is awsome. I also have a trust fund, which is awsome as well.
I support socialized health care and aid programs, but people should be allowed to gather personal wealth and become rich if they really want to.

I don't support socialized medicine because I do not want government making my healthcare decisions for me, but I do agree with the idea thay anyone should get rich. The thing about business regulations is that it hurts small business but big business can afford them, which is the reason the big businesses are the only ones staying big.

I despies that comment. As true as it may be (which is strikling true) I am not a upper-middle class suburbanite.
Jobs you say? What field am I in? Well, I am a ecologoy sociology double major with affliations to a college program in Ecosystem Management.
How did a poverty stricken child get to university? $20,000 OSAP loan, and Im only in my 2nd year, and a lot of scholarships.
You say $20,000+scholarships is quite an expensive lifestyle, well you are right, but going to the most expensive Canadian school will do that, however most expensive in this case also means the best in my field. And I also have to pay university tuition and college tuition (yay! double pain in the ass with the unfreezing of tuitions this year. Thanks Priemer Dalton McGunity I owe you)
Socialists and Communist are not just hobos, and low-income bums many people like to think, we are in every trade, every field and every profession.

High rank civil servant.

You may fill a complaint with the Brazilian government. They will most probably tell you to fuck off, but, hey, what to you have to lose?
They just want to dress like clowns,
Casual look, short hair, social (if overworn) shoes. Most likely gray or blue; once on ages, when I feel really savage, I may indulge on a green shirt or brown pants. Impressive, isn't it?
What is so wrong with studying,
Really nothing. That's how I got a grad.
working hard
Again nothing. Although, obviously, I prefer a lighter job. Yes, you may envy me.
and getting a good job?
Like mine, for instance?
Do you guys hate anyone that makes over $20,000 a year? 25k?
Are you asking if I hate myself?
Boy, if I earned that little, I would probably.

I work in a kitchen about 6 to ten hours a day depending on the demand and often times don't get off until around 11 pm. I work my ass off. My legs are constantly sore. I get a pretty good wage for working in a kitchen (i guess). I don't think there is anything wrong with working a great well paying job, as long as you're not some bougeois asshole.

Nope, but I do hate people who make 4.7 million € per year for example.

so, how is it you came to these well researched deductions about the general populace of the left? i work 40 hrs a week as a waiter, attend 18 hrs of community college becuase i couldnt afford the tuition of a four year school, and still have time for my friends and girlfriend. maybe you should try living the life of someone who isnt shitting money, then you can accurately judge the state we're in. so i guess basically, fuck you very much for making your small minded judgements about us.

Accountant. I got one more job recently. That makes 60-75 hours a week (no days off).
And if you do your job well and hence you're well-paid, I see nothing wrong with it.

So, all you want is a "better wage" and more opportunities to improve oneself? What happened to the campaign to "abolish wage slavery"?
That's not revolutionary communism now is it?
Wouldn't that make you a "reformist"?

Frankly, I do want to abolish wage slavery. I don't need zillions of dollars, I just want to live not to survive. And I want the same for others. No golden toilets for some, no death of starvation for others.

odd, how can we not be a part of the "real world"? we exist, first of all, and we have to eat, second of all.
those qualifiers force us to work.. or, rather, the alternatives force us to work.
people like to make the argument that, "real communists don't work, or else they're hypocrites" -- as if, for example, not wanting to be a starving african child, or a south american man with blazing tooth decay, is somehow reprehensible. sorry, the point is to eliminate the need to even ask for those "alternatives"; no one should have to make those choices. ideally, they wouldn't even come up.
nor should anyone, say, go live in a war-torn region and watch his wife get raped by african warlords, simply to make some kind of "point".. yeah, what fine solidarity with the people! since everyone else in the world is malnourished, let me never brush my teeth again slowly kill myself through unemployment!
as for jobs go, i'll answer your question: i was a pharmacy technician for about a year, and tomorrow i start my first day of college.

I'm working class, but i'm about to start university in September. I'm doing Computer Games Development, which could mean having a job such as a games designer or website designer. I didn't pick the course in the hope of getting loads of money, I wanted to do it so my future job would involve a lot of creative thought as well as incorporating IT, which i'm fairly good at.
I know that if I become a games designer, I'll probably earn more than my dad, who is a postperson (he's 50 and hes been a postperson since his late teens) but that doesn't make me less working class or anything.

No, that is not what I was implying.
What I meant was your position of just making sure people have a livable wage and can go on to some form of higher education without any financial barriers in the way, isn't necessarily communistic but rather liberal/socialist.
Why are you calling yourself a communist? It seems like you just want to go "half-way" instead of "all the way".
Redstar, LSD and the rest of the gang would be very disappointed in you.
Frankly, I do want to abolish wage slavery. I don't need zillions of dollars, I just want to live not to survive. And I want the same for others. No golden toilets for some, no death of starvation for others.
But you can have all of those things without a communist revolution.
Why aren't you campaigning for the Democratic-Socialist Party or liberal Democrats?

I'm so horrified :D

Well... if Democratic-Socialist Party or liberal Democrats want to abolish classes...
... and abolish money-goods relationships and establish gift economy...
... and abolish government and establish self-governing society...
... and abolish private property on means of production...
... et cetera, et cetera...
Then go on, call me liberal Democrat or Democratic Socialist, whatever!
