A canadian-Iranian Journalist was killed in police custody in Iran on July 10th. She was arrested on june 23rd and eventually beaten to death by Iranian police/ She was arrested for taking pictures outside of a prison. Canada has just pulled out their ambassador to Iran in protest to they way they've handled her arrest. Canada is rallying for her body to be retuned to her home in Canada for an autopsy and burrial, but it is likely that her body has been given to Iranian family for a secret burrial.

Ack, that is sick.

I hope the US doesn't try to use this as a reason to invade.

Hopefully the Iranian people will overthrow those stupid clerics soon.

I heard on the CBC that her body was burried in her Iranian home town a couple of days ago. We still want the body back.

Primus, we are trying. First there were calls to Iran for her body to be returned, then I'm quite sure the prime minister gace a speech to the Iraning government/leader, demanding her return. And since nothing has come of either, they've pulled out our ambassidor for "consultation"........ we'll see where this leads too, hopefully we get her body back. Jean Chrietien referred to the ambassidor pulling as a big form of protest, and he seemed really ticked off when he said it.

I think that if we keep the pressure on, we'll get her back.

yes indeed.

But now Iran is yelling at us over the death of an Iranian teen last week in Vancouver. He was shot and killed by police...... he was weilding a machete, waiving it around in the streets, slashing tires, etc. I admit that he shoiuldn't have been shot for slashing tires, but when the police show up and you're waiving a machete at them..... well, that's how the story went.

Yeah, but the irony is that Iran wants justice for that. When they beat our journalist to death in prision. She was arrested for taking photo's for christ's sake, not waiving a machete through town!

5 officers have been taken into Iranian custody for her death, I'll see if I can find an article.

Iran has admitted that Kazemi was most likely murdered while in custody, from a hemorage due to a head injury (I'm not 100% sure on that one, but I think that 's what I heard about the cause of death). We wont know for sure until we get that body back.
