Amendment I.2
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

A brilliant and significant....of the most importance, and the forefather's hands should be grasped in understanding. I re-read and re-read again the doctrine. It is #1...it is the understanding...it WAS the understanding....it is the doctrine stating that the PEOPLE are of most importance, for the people are aware! It says blatantly, under peaceful assembly....a petition unto government is of the most importance. A revolution occurs NEVER under peace but it's growth must be under peace!

We must never cave in, gave in or surrender. For those of us in the United States need to look no farther then RUle #1. A rule set into place for times like these. This is OUR law! And to disobey it would be the true crime.

I'm sorry...where was the part in there where it said "Persecute the leftists?" I mean, it's been part of U.S. policy since the beginning of the country's founding, but I've never seen it written. Just because someone has a nice law like the First Amendment doesn't mean it is enforced or fair. You can't trust governments to do shit like this.

As for the whole bourgeois conception of "free speech," I've always wondered why graffitti is illegal but Nazis can march down the street. That's what they mean by free speech.

It should be changed to "not infringe the freedom of speech or the press unless they are suspected of being fifth columnists and then it shall be ok". <_<

The First Amendment was broken from the very start of the America. Thomas Jefferson jailed dissent in New York City, Alexander Hamilton suggested that we create a one party system based on electing the legislative and executive branch for life, we later saw the Alien and Sedition Act, and the brutal treatment of African American slaves and the lower class. It was through the efforts of many movements throughout our history that we have made a large advancement on the level of personal freedoms.

"I've always wondered why graffitti is illegal"
Because it offends the most holy right of them all: that of privation of property.

AKA the right to deny life and well-being to mankind.
