I'm not quite sure where to put this, so I'll stick it into Action.
Basically the US Army plans to take land from residents in this area to expand its training grounds. I'm not sure if it will be directly seized without renumeration, or if there will be compulsory purchase orders, but either way the people who live here will be driven from their homes and forced to give up their land and their way of life.
I'm not in the US, but could I ask members of leftist action groups to organise protests and actively show solidarity?

On another note: I don't know Pinon Canyon at all. What's the landscape like? Its size? What would it take to defend such an area from a superior military force?
