Can anyone tell me if they've ever heard of this group, and what they are like? What is there posistion on the war, and Israel?

It's a Druze party, founded in 1949 by Kamal Jumblatt. It's nominally social-democratic/democratic socialist and is a member of the Socialist International. It's currently led by his son, Walid Jumblatt, and is pretty much a caudillo party. He's become a corrupt politician just like the heirs to Chamoun and the other venal Lebanese politicians.
