While not explicitly leftist, there are videos from Richard Dawkins on google video.
The Root of All Evil? Part 1 — The God Delusion (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6193866746249268230&q=Richard+Dawkins)
The Root of All Evil? Part 2 — The Virus of Faith (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8239331458224461127&q=Richard+Dawkins)

Here (http://youtube.com/watch?v=5ppZ18veoVE&search=che%20guevara) is a pretty good montage of pictures from Che Guevara’s life.

That We video is really just a speech by Arundhati Roy with images and songs cut in. The speech is interesting but the video is not to impressive.

Somebody want to sticky this? I'm making a thread of a bunch of good torrents I've found over time. You need to PM me and I'll add more to the list. I'm going to be adding more with time that I found, don't worry. ;)

To download torrents you will need either Bittornado (http://download.bittornado.com/download/BitTornado-0.3.15-w32install.exe), utorrent (http://utorrent.com/), azureus (http://azureus.sourceforge.net/) or the 'official' bittorrent client. (http://bittorrent.com) (I personally prefer bittornado, as its simple and easy to use.). Once you have installed this, all you need to do is download the .torrent file and click on it, BT will start downloading the actual file automatically. Once your download is finished (this can take a Long time), please let your share rating go up to at least 1.000 (if you can spare the bandwidth). This means you have uploaded as much as you have downloaded, bittorrent relies on users letting their share rating go up to at least 1.000, otherwise nobody would be able to download anything!

Assuming you have downloaded a movie, you will probably need to play it with something called DivX (http://divx.com) Since most movie on the torrent network are .avi. DivX is free and easy to use, and great as your default media player. :)

Another thing you may want is the AC3 extension. Some videos use this, but not many. It can be found at http://ac3filter.sourceforge.net/ This is also free.

If you need subtitles, you need to either find the subtitles for the movie (you might have some luck here (http://www.divxsubtitles.net/)) or the movie might come with subtitles. Once you have them you will need to rename the correct language subtitle file to the same name of the movie you are watching, in the same directory. The only difference (in name) between the two should be the extension. (one being the video extension, and the other, of course, the subtitle extension)

If you have downloaded a movie and it is a .rar file, don't worry! It's easy to play these, you just need WinRAR (http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm). Once you have downloaded and install this, go into the folder where the .rar file is. Click on the 'primary' .rar file. This will be the only file in this folder that actually has a .rar extension, the other files will be .rXX (XX would be a number). The primary .rar file also has 3 books as it's icon. Right-Click on it and 'extract to' a subfolder. Click yes in the dialog boxes you will see, and give it a couple of minutes. When it is done, you should be able to go into that sub-folder and play the file. If the resulting file is a .dat or .cue, you'll have to wait for the next paragraph to come out later this week to play it, as I am very tired at the moment and must get some sleep. :)

A .cbz file is just a .tar archive especially for images, more specifically comic books. To open a .cbz file, you will need to get CDisplay (http://www.cdisplay.net/). To use it, you just click the install.exe button, and click on a file. To configure it to fit to screen, right click and click 'Configure'. To close, you also need to right click and click 'Exit'. To go through a comic, use your mouse wheel, or right click and hover over 'Page Movement Control'

I will only be editting this post for torrents that are pm'd to me. I just don't have the time to look through the thread for more torrents

Please only submit torrents you have downloaded and know they are working.

Documentary about class struggle in '80s Liverpool, the radicalisation of the Liverpool City Council, the role of the left within Labour, etc. It's from a Labour Party left perspective, but it still provides some sense of the political climate of one of the most militant cities in Britain at the time.

I found this documentary by BBC called "The Power of Nightmares". In short, it explains the rise of Islamic fundamentalism in the Middle East and Neo-conservatism in the West, and how these two "ideologies" fought during the Cold War and what they are doing in the world today. The documentary is somewhat shown from a liberal perspective, but all in all it is an absolute must-see. Three parts, one hour each:

Alright, some of these movies you'll have to watch, segment by segment, on you tube. The Henry Kissenger and WTO movies are on google, however. There was another movie on google that was about Baader-Meinhof, but it would apear the page has been taken down. If I find it, I'll be sure to post it for you.

The First film is sort of a music video/documentary about consumerism...probubly the best one on the list here.
The second was a doc from Naomi Klein talking about the anti-globalization movement...I think...It's been a while since I saw it.
The third is about the use of propaganda in the war in Iraq.
The Fourth is a movie about what a pig, war criminal, son of a *****, Henry Kissenger was.
The fifth is about anarchists in WTO protest in Seatle.

Yeah I saw this one. I don't know. I like it that you can find a bunch of BBC 4 docs online but some of them...they buy too much in to "conspiricism" as opposed to fingering capitalism outright.

This is a series of 10 min lectures on Marxism (http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=rlstrick&p=r)

Its not about Revolution, socialism, communism, Trotskyism or Maosim.

It just seems to be a university professor explaining some Marxist ideas.

I have only watched a couple, they were ok, and he explains it fairly clearly.

I recommend this to new people.

No. When I first read into Marxist theory I too had a hard time understanding the parts about economics. I can barely understand Marx's Capital as it is. Fortunately I am getting better lately.

This documentary is kind of lame actually when compared with the more recent BBC4 doc Baader Meinhof: In Love with Terror, which got yanked from Google Video before I got a chance to post it here (the bastards!). But it's about a subject I know very little about and does, I feel, take a pro-establishment stance with regards the short lived 1970s, UK based, urban guerilla group, the Angry Brigade (admittedly a silly sounding name). But decide for yourselves.
