WTO in Hong Kong: A bunch of short docos from the recent WTO protests in Hong Kong, including focus on the Global South film, 'why the WTO is really bad for you'.

Mario Godinez on Glamis Gold's Marlin Mine: Mario speaks about the World Bank supported mine in Guatemala.

Excerpts from Breaking the Bank: Segments on the history and impac of the IMF and World Bank.


AND


Films on the Zapatistas and the recent violence in Atenco (Mexico).

Breaking the Seige: This video analyses the events in San Salvador Atenco during the first days of May, 2006 and denounces the violation of the civilain population's human rights by state and federal police forces.

And various short documentaries that give background on the Zapatista struggle and the 'other campaign'.



This is a fundraiser for prisoners in Atenco.

Yeah i know what you mean, i really only go to watch the odd film at dendy or whatever, its a mish to get there on the train, but the Atenco stuff sounds interesting, have you ever read Mutiny? It's a monthly anarchist zine thing, put about by the Mutiny Collective, they had a really good article about Atenco a couple months back (written by people who were staying at the solidarity camps outside the prison), i'd really like to learn more about it, and it could be a decent, low-key night out.

I might go, but I'm in Tassie. So I gues I'll be on the Internet or something. Maybe read a good book (or even a crap one). Perhaps go to sleep.

We done a video showing of this here, it's very moving. A must see.
