Am I the only one thinks all this JonBenet press coverage by the right wing corporate media is a distraction to keep our minds off Iraq ?

A lot of stuff is "buried" by the media and governments. For example, a woman who worked for the British governemnt got in trouble for suggesting the September 11th attacks could be used to bury bad news (I can't remember what the bad news was exactly, though).

It's big news in America and has been for the last decade. I don't think there is a "conspiracy" to replace coverage of Iraq with this story. Anything to do with the JonBenet case would generate loads of coverage.

No. It's a conspiracy within the corporate media to attempt to garner the highest ratings over the "important" story of one murder.

Exactly, Days of Rage. There is no cabal meeting in a smoke-filled room.

But the consequence of their profit-seeking efforts is certainly to distract people from bigger stories. See, the system works!
