There is a documentary out on his life and times called Hotel Terminus: The Life and Times of Klaus Barbie. It won an Oscar for Best Documentary of 1988 or 1989.

I had written something about Klaus Barbie and his involvement in Bolivia some time ago and I posted it on a thread about Nazis who work for the CIA. It's somewhere in te OI, and I'm too lazy to dig it up, but my main source was Jeffrey St.Clair's Whiteout, and it had a long chapter about Klaus Barbie. Anyways, I don't think Barbie ever worked in Greece or Italy. When he was in the Gestapo, he worked in Netherlands, Ukraine if I remember correctly and France where he was incredibly infamous for his torture methods etc. After the war, he spent some time in Germany, working for the Brits and Americans, then the French found him to press charges for what he had done in France, and then Americans sent him to Bolivia, where he basically got involved with every nasty event that happened in bolivia, I think he had something to do with every coup, he had started weapon smuggling and cocaine empires, and he was almost definately involved in Guevara's murder.
