I have a general question here - how would I be able to arbitarily help someone into becoming a communist?

(I have been very worn down lately by lots of work and such, so my mind currently has hit a dead end and refuses to start up for a while - but i feel a bigger need now to go enlighten more people, as my mind has almost literally exploded with too much research and thinking, etc.)

Since people in my area are generally apolitical, it is hard to make any of them radical/political at all, let alone be communist.

And it seems awkward just to ask them out of the blue

so any suggestions on method?

Thanks :)

well you want to find out their views, and then win them over to yours. So just start a convosation with, "don't you think it sucks how (insert statistic here) " or something

I would say that making them aware of their surroundings and offering them an alternative is the best way to approach and inform them
For example:
Try to compare what they earn with what their boss earns, that way u indicate to them that their boss is doing less than a 1/4 of their work, and yet he gets paid more
Or ask them if they have healthcare or insurance, and tell them that under communism, no one will be denied these and other fundamental human rights

Something along those lines...

PS: If u live in a well-to-do area than u might wanna show them the other side of the coin
Those who aren't well-to-do, and how they suffer while a select minority in society bask in their wealth

Offering an alternative is absolutely a good angle to begin with - most people only know of Communism as "that thing that the Russians tried, wasn't it really shit?", which goes to show how well the right has managed to fuck the left over?!

Engaging people in general convesration about just about any topic will, assuming they are half-way brain-active, get some responses along the lines of "oh yeah, good point..." But follow this up in several conversations, showing that you are actually serious and believe that Communism really is an alternative, and moreover the best and only alternative, then people will start to think and listen.

DON'T tell them to read the Manifesto or something - I haven't even finished Manifesto, and I call myself a dyed-in-the-flesh communist. Giving them a book, even a tiny book, will not work on the large majority of people - I should know, people have tried it on my often enough :P
