Hey guys,
I have Spondylolysisthesis, I think it's grade 1 and I'm 15 years old.
I've been in a backbrace for the past 4 weeks and have 2 left, this is standard conservative treatment.
I just wondered whether anyone else has this condition and is around my age, i'd like someone to talk to me about it.
I've read loads on it...But the son of a doctor, who is very middle-class, well he and the doctor, his dad keep terrifying me...
Basically, they like to be the best and to many people from the east a doctor is a sign of high status...Anyway, so I want to be a doctor (not because of status or such) and being the son of a man that worked his ass off as a burger flipper by day and taxi at night, the middle class family has not much respect for us because we worked our way up the social class, into middle class but people respect us much as we are known for helping people who need money and offering immigrants a place to stay and stuff...it's complicated anyway this isn't really important.
So upon hearing I enjoyed medicine they began telling me I can't be a surgeon because of my back and I shouldn't take medicine at all and he spread rumours to everyone making me sound like some kind of inferior or something..
And today his son told me, that my condition happens to 70-80 years old and that the doctors were hiding the true severity of the condition from me because it's illegal to worry a patient.
But the doctor told me it's grade 1 which isn't that bad, I don't know whether these people talk shit to me, just to scare me or it's the truth...
So I was just wondering if anyone has the condition, as it would be easier to relate to them.
