Interesting. My dad's a firefighter, and I'm sure he wouldn't say no to these. Too bad the article doesn't give more details of how they work - I would have thought the water pressure in the tubes, which is pretty damn high, would make flexible metallic tubing impossible.


Designers envision that the robot's hydraulic power will enable it to clear away heavy objects and perhaps even smash through walls.
Now this would be cool :) Still, I imagine a bit distressing to suddenly see this water-firing snake blast through a wall in the middle of a fire :lol:

At the moment it looks like the snakes can only fire a small amount of water (picture 5) but still, if the premise works then I say good luck to them.

I thought this was gonna be about a new movie. :lol:

Cool though I'm not sure if firefighting units will be able to buy these things. Capitalism generally puts money above human lives.
