Hello I'm bored of most genres these days and i'm look to exploring political rap... who are some good artists?

I know Sun R.A, but who else stuff should I check out too?

Public Enemy is good

Paris is alright

Old Dead Prez is good, their new stuff is very gangsta and not too revolutionary

T-Kash is okay

And of course IT (Immortal Technique)

For hip hop I recomend; Dead Prez and The Coup

most political hip-hop is shit.

i listen to music when it's creative, not when it just happens to have a sympathetic message.

there are exceptions, of course. mos def has, at most, five or six very impressive songs: mathematics, new world water, mr. nigga, re: definition, thieves in the night, respiration (those last four songs are actually from "black star," not just mos def.. do the search like that).

anyone even remotely interested in hip-hop needs to take a look at those verses.

ras kass: somewhat political, if you can stand to listen to a lot of trash and homophobia in between some real gems. "the evil that men do," "ordo abchao," "on earth as it is..." and "reelishymn."

"'cause i don't give a fuck about a menial existence
and i don't give a fuck about non-violent resistance
civil rights will not suffice
in the name of jesus christ, they got my soul on ice

and if clinton is the answer..
it was a stupid question"

the coup: the best resolutely political hip-hop group, ever. i suggest the very first album, "kill my landlord" and, to a lesser extent, "genocide & juice" and "steal this album".

aesop rock: not necessarily "political" in the explicit sense, but political nonetheless. probably the greatest rapper ever.. his stuff is subtle, and incredible. he's the only reason i still listen to hip-hop.. purely creative. does not sacrifice real and powerful substance for theme.

dead prez, immortal technique, tupac, nas, paris, and public enemy are popular choices, too, but i don't at all consider them good.

again, a nice theme is no excuse for sloppy & lazy lyrics.

Immortal Technique, like everyone else said but also try Zearle if you like SRA.

Fuck Immortal Technique, nothing but macho-homophobic-sexist SHIT.

Brooklyn-Mecca was on the right track, Black Star (Talib Kweli & Mos Def), The Coup, Mr. Lif are all top artists. Next probably Dead Prez, Sun Rise Above & KRS-One.

But you can't like him if you're a revolutionary because in one song he takes slight jabs at homosexuality .........It's just one song. Maybe he has better songs and actually I've seen some semi-political lyrics from him. Pretty well worded.

Yeah, because taking "slight jabs" (how you can call his lyrics "slight jabs" is beyond me) at oppressed groups is a-ok in C_Rasmussen-land.

How fucked. Also some really sexist things by him were posted in another thread, stuff about traditional gender roles and shit.

*Sighs*

It was ONE song. Note the number of songs brought up in the rap thread. Sure the comments he made were rather delusional about "male power base" or w/e and I'll agree with you on that but once again the homophobic lyrics that were brought up were only from one song (and used as an example more than once). Did I ever say it was ok? No but you shouldn't disregard an artist because of one song brought up. Why do that? Maybe he's got good lyrics against Bush and the war in Iraq. Also if you dont like those songs he sings than dont listen to them? Sorry if that came off wrong but hopefully you know what I mean.

not at all, that's the very point that i'm making. most political rap is not well-worded at all.. it's simply un-creative information to a beat, a fact that begs for so many exceptions, yet rarely ever receives them.

immortal technique falls under the category of "boring," and public enemy and especially dead prez fall under even worse categories.

so, at bottom, he doesn't have:

good lyrics against Bush and the war in Iraq

, just some political opinions that should be expressed on an internet discussion forum, not in a song. songs are for people that have a certain creative talent, not just a good political idea.

Although I wouldn't go as far as saying that most political rap is shit or boring, there are some MC's that don't impress, lyrically speaking of course (Paris, DP, Zearle,...)

While there are many MC's, all most all exclusively underground that impress and astonish u with their rhymes, but aren't necessarily political or revolutionary

Sad fact I guess...

In my collection, I got some political stuff and some lyrical masterpieces, that I consider masterpieces

Political stuff: I got some Sun RA, old Dead Prez, IT (although he's losing me with his ignorance), Paris, PE

Lyrical stuff: Some Canibus, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Common, Ras Kass, Jedi Mind Tricks, The Roots, and A Tribe Called Quest

I guess that every artist has his own style, and as such, there are some that are gifted yet don't spit political raps, while others are not so gifted but are dedicated to change and radical politics
I guess its whatever floats your boat...

canibus, a very long time ago, used to be my favorite rapper. i still think he has some very powerful stuff, but i very rarely listen to him these days. especially since the new material is.. of minimal interest.

talib kweli: he's the man that got me into socially-conscious hip-hop, and into political stuff in general, when i was 15. i've moved on, and sort of realized that 97% of his stuff is pretty un-interesting, despite the positivity of his message. that message is no excuse for laziness, and i think talib kweli is, at times, very lazy.

jedi mind tricks: i've always wondered why people like them. very masculine, and very pseudo-intellectual, which is a categorization that most "deep" rap falls under. except, while i can excuse talib kweli for being pretty superficial at times, i can't excuse jedi mind tricks for being so fake and embarassing.

common: ever listened to "resurrection"? it's one of the greatest rap albums, ever. it's socially conscious, sure, but that's not the point, nor the real interest: the fact is, it's just so painfully clever. he has a song called "communism" on there, and it took on a lot of significance for me, even when i didn't know a thing about politics.

a tribe called quest: cool, and witty. i like them.

anyway.. based on your list, you seem to know your stuff. even though i don't like them, it says a lot when a person can talk about jedi mind tricks. the fact that you recognize ras kass is even better. you probably knew it already, but it's ras kass on my avatar. "slave" was what he used to describe his relationship with priority records, the assholes that refused to release one of his very best albums ("van gogh").

Non Phixion is good, hard to follow at times with insane lyrics, but good sound to it. I especially like their song Black Helicopters.

Brand Nubian if your into the oldskool stuff.

Anyone know when Revolutionary Vol 3 will appear?

If you are looking for real politcial life you must also listen to KRS-One, going back right down to his Boogie Down Productions days. Too many classic tracks to list but "Its All A Struggle", "The Real Holy Place" and "The Racist" stand out for me.

The guy is the business.

Yeah, I got all his early stuff, and IMO his best: Rip the Jacker
Like u, I haven't copped his latest stuff, especially Mind Control
But yeah, Bis is one of my fav's
Some of his lyrics are ridiculous

BTW: What do u mean by Kweli being lazy? Lazy as in lyrically speaking? Meaning he could write better lyrics, but is too lazy to??

Man, "Resurrection" is a classic
Common spits hard stuff
His last CD "Be" was alright I guess, a lil too commercial for my tastes
But u can tell that Common has lost some of his lyrical dexterity

Ras Kass is IMO one of the greats
He's one of the few West Coast MC's, if not the only one, that can hold his own against MC's from the East Coast
Its been 10 years since "Soul On Ice," but believe it or not, Im still listening to it
BTW: Have u copped "Revenge of the Spit?" Any good?
I haven't been able to check it out, but I've heard mixed feelings

Political rap is basically all I've been listening to for the past year. As far as who I like...

Dead Prez, Paris, PE and The Coup have already been mentioned.

IT: I like most of his lyrics. His "The Poverty of Philosophy" is very moving, even though it isn't really a song. What's the song that so many people have their panties in a bundle over?

Hasan Salaam: He's a Muslim and his rap shows it. However he has a lot of good music and his views aren't unreasonable when it comes to religion.

Lowkey: He's an English rapper with some decent songs.

Blue Scholar: Someone posted this on this forum, I think. Pretty good lyrics but the sound isn't always great.

Looptroop are dope. War Party are good (look up the song "Reeling Reserved".

And don't listen to Brooklymecca, listen to Dead Prez' "Food, Clothes and Shelter" (the original).

take most talib kweli songs, and check the lyrics online. analyze them. you'll probably see what i'm saying here, as i find a lot of his stuff to be embarassing and/or lazy.. that is, he throws out a lot of socially-progressive-sounding material out, without taking the care to make sure that this material is actually creative. i don't think it is, at least most of it isn't, anyway. maybe, there are some exceptions on "black star," "reflection eternal," and "quality." but, most of the stuff i really liked, i like it when i was 15.. by the time i was exposed to other music, even other kinds of hip-hop music, i could look at talib kweli and legitimately call him lazy.

But u can tell that Common has lost some of his lyrical dexterity

as all artists inevitably do :(

Ras Kass is IMO one of the greats
He's one of the few West Coast MC's, if not the only one, that can hold his own against MC's from the East Coast

i wouldn't at all say the only one.. blackalicious, hieroglyphics, the coup, and many others, are west coast, and are constantly making very good material.

Its been 10 years since "Soul On Ice," but believe it or not, Im still listening to it
BTW: Have u copped "Revenge of the Spit?" Any good?

i still listen to soul on ice, sometimes.

it's the album that, three and a half years ago, made me go to the library and find a book of the same title. i read it then, and it changed my life. thank you ras kass, and eldridge cleaver, for developing me into posting on this site. =)

"revenge of the spit" -- i have very little reason to ever check what's ras kass doing now. van gogh was pretty decent, but, van gogh is considered "real effort," i wouldn't want to hear what the rest of the stuff is like. but, unfortunately, i have; almost everything ras kass puts out these days (especially that fucking embarassment "re-up: the compilation") is trash. i never heard "revenge," but, if ras kass fans are having "mixed feelings," then i'll probably have far worse feelings than that.

sure, there are some decent dead prez songs.. "happiness" and "hip-hop" being two of their best.

yet, that doesn't say much about the rest of their material.

Dutch group, Freemason Killer Squad, headed by Grootmeester Kruis. The lyrics won't mean much to you if you don't speak Dutch, but it's still some good shit. Those who do understand the language, you're in for a treat, very good political lyrics, very witty, too. A lot of it is written from an anti-zionist, christian perspective so there are a lot of conspiracy-theorist themes about the Illuminati and the Masons and the like, but they're also definitely anti-fascists. Also, from what I've heard, Kruis joined the communist party here recently, and a while ago they performed at the Camp for Peace in Belgium, organised by the Belgian communist youth. So I'm sure he'll gradually develop a more Marxist analysis. He already identifies himself as a communist in some songs. :D

Anyone listen to Askari X?

He's a NOI-Black Panther-Incarcerated type of guy. He's got perhps some of the most anti-white lyrics ever, which isn't a plus, but he's painfully devoted to a black revolution. You gotta take him with a grain of salt, prison screwed with his mind, but his song "Ward of the State II" is one of the best raps I've ever heard. It put me in tears the first few times I heard it.

Canibus joined the US Army in 2002. The lyrics to 'Draft Me' from his (rubbish) 2001 album 'C True Hollywood Stories':

[Chorus: 2x]
[B]Draft me! I wanna fight for my country
Jump in a humvee and murder those monkeys!
Draft me! I'm too dedicated to fail
Justice must prevail (Justice must prevail!)

[Canibus]
Yo, I wanna get drafted, I wanna see somebody get they ass kicked
with standard military tactics
Fuck brass knuckles, I'll punch you with brass fists
Totally flowin with my emotions in my moment of madness
I'll wake up the whole barracks, murder you on your matress
And look at you like, "What's the matter?"
You better go back to your bed, before I have to act up
You might be the next one to get ripped you jacker!
You better not tell the captain
I might accidentally shoot you with the mack 10 at target practice
Runnin through the obstacle course, up and across
Over the logs, five more, damn soldier you strong
Come on, I wanna be agile and docile
Break ya legs like popsicle sticks, put you in a hospital
Stand over top of you, put a pillow over your nostrils
and just feel so sorrowful
It doesn't make me feel powerful, it's just a parable
It's just a rhyme really none of this is tangible
So don't ask me about it, I won't get angry at you
And before I get angry, I just won't answer you
You better go get in shape or lift some weights nigga
Cuz next time I see you I'ma be a ape nigga
Lemme find out you still callin out my name
I'll crash into your tourbus with a plane nigga

[Chorus: 2x]

[??]
Fuckin with my freedom, leave a muh'fucker bleedin
Leave 'em in pain like a infant when he teethin
It's huntin season, and ya loved ones grievin
Cuz I never back up (no sir) I never back down
Ask Brown (Ha!) From the bell to the last round
Face down, dick in the dirt, hit 'em where it hurt
Make the enemy my lil' ***** in a skirt
Cuz when it rained it poured, this ain't a game it's war
One goal, one aim son, same as yours
Alotta pain to endure, terrain to explore
And I'ma hold my weapon right cuz I was trained in the Corp
You don't want no trouble, whole city reduced to rubble
And we gon' make it happen, quick, fast, and on the double
Draft me!

[??]
So y'all best go get y'all shuffles!
(Draft me) The situation's gettin ugly
So who better butt me, and put to sleep the enemy
Draft me, pass me, the M-16
Give me a buzz cut, ask me if I give a fuck
I'm comin out blastin, military four-fashion
Twelve close castin, for weapons of mass-distraction
Outlastin, all the privates in my company
Fightin for my family, and the cats that grew up with me
My Band of Brothers, rarely just smother the enemy
Razor blades cut ya face and leave a scar so you remember me
Lurkin, to leave y'all with bloody red turbans
Screamin "Jihad!" while y'all pray to a false god
We ready for, all out war, it's time to settle the score
Grab a .44 and dump into nigga's door
Draft me, you ain't even gotta ask me, I'm ready
With the Rambo machete, using tactics that's deadly
Draft me, I swear to God, we ready for the Taliban
Drop the bomb, and huddle with some nuclear laws, come on!
[Chorus: 2x]

[Canibus (as Stan)]
Truthfully, I wouldn't wanna go to war if they asked me
I'd rather puff hashies and talk about headies and Lassie
I was just sayin to Canibus last week
I heard a record called Channel 0 that was mad deep
When I'm overseas I can't eat, the food is nasty
Bis has a seafood fancy, I'm allergic to crabby
G'head draft me, your all in my new family
I'll have a good time wavin gats at the ???
If I get hit, one of the team'll carry me
So g'head draft me, g'head draft me

[Chorus: 2x]

i have to mention here "active member" which you probably don't know 'cause they're greek but i think they are if not communists then friends of communism have a look at this...(ignore the greek letters...i might translate them tomorrow)

: Active Member - Guantanamo

I diritti?
Noi non stiamo zitti, non stiamo zitti.

Falso, falso, falso, falso grande capo,

Lets wonder, lets fly, lets find us
in Guantanamo and free the fire.

Πάμε σαν διψασμένα πουλιά
μέχρι το Γκουαντανάμο
να πάρουμε τη φωτιά

How can we free the prisoners of war,
from indefinite detention down in Cuba?
I feel sorry for the innocent ones who suffer,
so we dedicate this one to all world leader.
If you live in a glass house, don't throw stones.
What gives you the right to invade people's homes?
Terrorism is something that we can't condone,
but there is more than one reason why the towers came down.

Lets wonder, lets fly, lets find us
in Guantanamo and free the fire.
Πάμε σαν διψασμένα πουλιά

μέχρι το Γκουαντανάμο

να πάρουμε τη φωτιά.

Vamos como pajaros del fuego

en Guantanamo,

libertaramos el fuego

Des oiseaux volent vers les terres

De Guantanamo l'ξle de l'enfer

Πάμε σαν διψασμένα πουλιά
μέχρι το Γκουαντανάμο
να πάρουμε τη φωτιά.

Lets wonder, lets fly, lets find us
in Guantanamo and free the fire.

Not so much now
Despite this, he rarely spits nationalistic garbage in his first couple of albums
And on Rip the Jacker, its all scientific and quite near genius
Im not condoning his political view point, I lost interest after Rip the Jacker

Brooklyn-Mecca was on the right track, Black Star (Talib Kweli & Mos Def), The Coup, Mr. Lif are all top artists. Next probably Dead Prez, Sun Rise Above & KRS-One.

Of course not what?

Of course it doesnt matter who is homophobia is aimed at?

Then why say, 'but i get the feeling it's more aimed at stereotypical homosexauls' - as if that somehow excused or deflected the criticism.

If he's homophobic it doesn't matter who he 'aims' his homophobic shit at, it's insulting regardless.

It's indirect homophobia, Tech obviously sees homosexuality as a demeaning label to be applied to opponents, not as a slur on gay people.

And yeah it's still unacceptable, but I think if someone were to inform Immortal Technique that his homophobic references alienate a section of revolutionary society he might stop it. Or maybe I'm being naieve.

That is a slur on gay people; by implying that being gay is somehow inferior, undesirable... It's like calling a man a "woman" (or some derogatory equivalent) as an insult. You know, because femininity is inferior?

In my mind, I don't understand how someone who is supposedly politically conscious (on the left) can not realise that. (talking about IT not you)

Sure thing.

But it's not just his homophobic shit that bothers me. Sexism and homophobia are closely related social phenomenon, and Tech has macho-posturing, chauvinism, and homophobia all rolled into one! Women are '*****es' that need to be protected by 'real' men ('feminine' guys and 'fags' don't count of course).

He constantly refers to women as '*****es', here's some samples of lyrics from Revolutionary Volume 1 & 2 (the albums you found easy listening) that i enjoyed:

From, "Creation & Destruction"

You're such a *****, somebody probably made you out of a rib

You get no props in hip-hop like feminine men

From bonus track on volume 2

tour jack him, have his half-a-ten ***** suck my friends dick
Fist-fucking a pussy's face holding a hand grenade

So if I catch you bluffing, faggot, you less than nothing

Immortal Technique will destroy your religion, you stupid *****

And your crew is full of more faggots than Greek mythology

From Obnoxious

give me a hundred grand, give me your watch, give me your chain
that's your girl, ***** get over here, give me some brain
I'll bust of on her face, and right after the segment
she'll propably rub it in her pussy, trying to get herself pregnant
I said it I meant it, that's the way I deal with enemies

you coffee shop revolutionary son of a *****
but you know what the fuck I think is just pathetic and gay
when niggaz speculate what the fuck 'Pac would say

why you trying to be hardcore, you fucking homo-thug
and don't be sensitive and angry at the shit that I wrote
cuz if you can take a fucking dick, you can take a joke

Internally Bleeding

And niggaz wonder why my heary is filled of hatred an anger
Cause some ***** killed my first born song with a coat hanger

Industrial Revolution

cuz you got jealousy in ya voice like star scream
and that's the primary reason that I hate ya faggots

Freedom of Speech

*****es know that I'm a freak like the elephant man

You ain't nothing but a motherfuckin racist *****

Word nigga, fuck John Ashcroft! Nigga, fuck Fox News! Fuck those snake-ass
*****es
You racist motha fucka, you don't give a shit about those people
You can suck my dick!!

Crossing the boundary

Immortal Technique insinuate degenerate fags

Bangbus.com, nigga fucking your *****

The prophecy

Like retarded kids throwing ice cubes at the sun
A victory against Immortal Technique will never be done

And cutting fake *****es out of my mind like a lobotomy

No Mercy

I'm cold blooded like reptiles
Touch a pregnant ***** and make her give birth to a dead child

And you're a played out dirty pussy devil
Like Margaret Thatcher

Dominant Species

My enemies are obsessed with me like the ***** in Misery

Dance with the devil

and they wanted to test him, before business started
suggested raping a ***** to proof he was cold hearted

the shirt covered her face, but she screamed the clouts
so Billy stomped on the *****, until he broken her jaw

You must only key in one certain parts of his music, or you're very sensitive... you pick which one is true. The word '*****' specifically has no context whatsoever to sexism, it's defined as a horny female dog. He isn't calling people like John Ashcroft or FOX News a '*****' because they're somehow like a woman.. if that's how you interpret it - then I think you're the one who is sexist.

Crossing the Boundary

I never make songs to disrespect woman
or to judge people about the way that they're living
but the way I am is based on the life I was given
Are you accusing him of lying, or are you and others taking him out of context? I believe it's the latter.

Would you call him a racist for calling someone he didn't like a 'nigga'? I don't get offended when people use the word 'nerd' or 'geek' in a derogatory way... even though that's how I define myself. I also don't get offended when rappers talk about 'crackas' in the not so positive form. Nor do a lot of people on this forum, apparently, because Dead Prez is not being attacked by the politically correct police.

IT's lyrics are meant to controversial and bring attention to what he's saying. I actually find a lot of what he says to be funny, such as this quote you were offended by:

A victory against Immortal Technique will never be done
How is that even remotely anti-gay/woman?

I mean just listen to "You Never Know" and you'll know for damn sure that he isn't disrepectful towards women. And in No Me Importa:

Siempre me encuentro con la mujer equivocada
A superficial mami con la alma comprada
Yo I'm sick of stupid chicks que hablan de nada
Let's got to my house conversacion acabada
Yeah we can fuck but you gotta go after manana
You walking bootlegged porque te deje clavada
Don't ever talk shit about niggaz and get enojada
There's a reason that you never been properly amada
Cause you fuck niggaz and suck dick como si nada
Para la porqueria and save the drama
Don't come to the fucking club con una actitud mala
You've been drinking too much Bacardi and smoking lala
Escuchame senorita, if you don't respect yourself
Don't expect respect from anyone else
Don't expect un hombre to support you with wealth
Go to college and be successful, do it for delft
Nunca vas a ser shit without knowledge your self
Mamis with cultural ineptitude are bad for your health
That's the type of mujer that I put back on the shelf
And go back to the pack crowd to look for somebody else
How can you say that he wants "real men" to protect the ladies? It's joke to even call IT a homophobe or sexist. I wouldn't be surprised if the only reason you're so angry over IT is because he's a rapper or you don't like his sound.

Your statement like the above, is fallacious non-sense.

What a moronic thing to say, yeah, i'm 'sensitive' about emcee's whose lyrical staples include FAGGOT and *****ES, and that in general is laced with macho-gangsta posing shit.

Unlike you, i actually give a fuck about these issues (homophobia and sexism), and won't just ignore them coz they happen to come in the form of nice beats or a good (debateable) emcee.

How about you step back from your IT worship for a second and critically evaluate his lyrics? The image that he projects?

Yeah whatever, '*****' has NO LINK to sexism at all,

Even the fucking dictionary, which is notorious for failing to keep up with slang and shit, has your number:

***** (bch) Pronunciation Key Audio pronunciation of "*****" [P]
n.

1. A female canine animal, especially a dog.
2. Offensive.
1. A woman considered to be spiteful or overbearing.
2. A lewd woman.
3. A man considered to be weak or contemptible.
3. Slang. A complaint.
4. Slang. Something very unpleasant or difficult.

See the connection?

Women are *****es, but so are men who are weak or effeminate 'like women' (like FAGGOTS or homo-thugs as Tech would say).

Immortal Technique uses ***** both to refer to spiteful women, and effeminate men, completing that wonderful sexist homophobic double whammy.

Yeah, please explain how ALL of those lines i quoted above are out of context.

Explain what the correct context and how they're not sexist, homophobic etc.

Do that.

Or is the above line just an evasion because you have no counter-argument whatsoever?

He's not 'lying', he's just a dumb sexist homophobic conspiracy nut poser.

Consequently, he doesn't have to make sense, because he's too stupid/ignorant to realise that saying 'i dun mean to offend women', doesn't cut it when you refer to women as *****es or sluts in your songs on a continual basis.

Or that he can not be homophobic but constnatly refer to people he dislikes as 'faggots' and criticise men for being effeminate 'homo-thugs'.

Saying that he doesnt mean to do it, doesnt mean shit. If he didnt mean to be a sexist homophobic moron, he wouldnt put that shit in his lyrics.

If he was seriously committed to fighting homophobia, sexism etc. there's no way it would ever even be possible for me to find quotes like this, except that i can, coz he's full of shit and you swallow all of it.

You don't think anything i quoted above is offensive to queers, women or people with learning/intellectual disabilities?

If not, why on earth not?

His lyrics reinforce sexism, homophobic etc.

It's not suprising that if you look around the net for IT fans, a hell of a lot of them use words like faggot, fags etc. regularly, and listening to their favourite emcee sure as hell doesnt give them the idea that using that kind of homophobic language is a negative thing.

People like IT just perpetuate this trend, and people like you who worship reactionary fucks like IT and defend them to the hilt, even when it's very obvious to everyone

When he uses words like homo-thug or faggot, he's referring to people not sex acts (and nor does using queer sex as an insult somehow escape the realm of homophobia).

Read the rest of the lyrics you dolt. He explains what the means real clearly.

You're a pathetic excuse for a 'revolutionary', do you even give a fuck about sexism? or homophobia?
Sure I do. I'm just not an overly sensitive cry baby, like yourself.

EDIT:

Your ONLY argument whatsoever is that "*****" and "Fag" are sexist and homophobic terms. Not once has IT ever said "Women are weak" or "We should hang all homosexuals." Each and every time he uses the word he's referring to an individual or small group of people. These words are offensive, they're meant to offend the person and not the people that little old Black Dagger defines them to represent. YOU are the one who is making these terms as slurs against whole groups of people, NOT Immortal Technique. YOU are the sexist homophobe.

A question, do you like anything that Marx, Bakunin or Proudhon said/done?

So what exactly is he waiting for...is he waiting for IT to declare all homosexuals as evil b4 he denounces his idol?
According to him its okay for revolutionaries to use words like "nigger" "*****" and "fag" to put down ppl we don't like
Thank u admins for getting rid of this reactionary idiot

What do you guys think of Black Star and Jurassic 5?
[/b]

Black Star is great IMO, 2 great MC's tearing it up
Its a pity that they haven't released anything since their debut album

I haven't heard much of Jurassic 5, they're aiight

Neither are very political or revolutionary, but with music that is that good, I don't mind

Ya, thats what I thought. I think they're both really talented though.

I just got Dead Prez's Turn Off The Radio Mix Tape Vol. 1 or whatever its called. Its ok, but I think I'll pick up Lets Get Free as I heard thats a lot better.

^Let's get free is way better...the intro to the album is not only interesting, but inspiring

"Assassination"
"Mind Sex"
"We Want Freedom"
"Animal in Man"
"Propaganda"

Are the best tracks on the album, IMO

Their other newer stuff is not good, too gangsta and not revolutionary :(

In fairness Proudhon said a lot of anti-semetic stuff. I wouldn't consider him counter-revolutionary on the whole though. Just acknowledge that IT's worldview isn't 100% in line with your thinking, and in many respects may be somewhat wrong without being completely wrong.

umm it's the same song

Black Dagger
15th September 2006, 18:58
No, it's not.

The latter is a remix of the former, they have completely different lyrics.

These are the lyrics to It's Bigger than hip-hop

It's Bigger Than Hip-Hop

* ";Hip-Hop"; remix

[radio tuning]

It's still bigger than hip hop hip hop hip hop hip
It's bigger than hip hop hip hop hip hop hip hop

[Verse 1]
Uhh, uhh, uhh
One thing 'bout music when it's real they get scared
Got us slavin for the welfare
Aint no food, clothes, or healthcare
I'm down for guerilla warfare
All my niggas put your guns in the air if you really don't care
Skunk in the air, make a nigga wanna buck in the air
for my brother locked up in the jump for a year
Shit is real out here don't believe these videos
This fake ass industry gotta pay to get a song on the radio
Really though, DP'z gon' let you know
It's just a game of pimps and hoes
And it's all 'bout who you know
Not who we are, or how we grow
I rap 'bout what I know, what I go through
What I been through, not just for no dough
Even though the rent due, what I'm into aint for no dough
Or just no fame, everything must change, nothin remains the same
Sick of the same ol' thang, it's bigger than ";Bling Bling";

HOOK:
If I, feel it I feel it, if I don't, I don't
If it aint really real then I probably won't
Rollin with my soldiers, live soldiers, ready to ride
For this real hip hop y'all I'm ready to die
Uhh, hip what hop what hip what hop what hip what hop what hip what
Hop c'mon, c'mon, my soldiers, live soldiers, ready to ride
For this real hip hop y'all I'm ready to die

[Verse 2]
Hip hop means sayin what I want never bite my tongue
Hip hop means teaching the young
If you feelin what I'm feelin then you hearin what I'm sayin
cause these fake fake records just keep on playin
What you sayin huh DP bringin the funk
Let the bassline rattle your trunk, uhhh!
Punk pig wit a badge wanna handcuff me cuz my pants that's tend to sag
Hip hop means throw up your rag, soldier flag
Whether ridin on the bus or you stole a jag
M-1 mean freedom, burn the cash
Revolutionary love til the day we pass
Will they play it on the radio
Maybe not, maybe so we gon keep it pumpin though
Everybody know we headed for the whoa, fo sho

[Verse 3]
Ay dogg that label is that slave ship
Owners got them whips and rappers is slaves
If you really wanna eat you gotta hear the same thing
With the football, b-ball, or if you slangin that dope
Aint never seen no hope, brainwash video shows be foolin my folk
What the hell a brother gon do though, huh
When the rent due, when the lights and the gas gonna get cut off
Drop them raps or cock them gats
Aint never had shit ever since we came to this *****
Why I gotta feel pain to get rich
'Stead of stackin chips, finna pack them clips

HOOK 2X
(Ride to this if you miss Tupac, bounce to this if you love Big Poppa)

We keep it crunkah

And these are the lyrics to Hip-Hop

Uh, uh, uh, 1, 2, 1, 2
Uh, uh, 1, 2, 1, 2, uh, uh
All my dogs

Hook

Its bigger than hip hop, hip hop, hip hop, hip
Its bigger than hip hop, hip hop, hip hop, hip hop

Uh, one thing bout music, when it hit you feel no pain
White folks say it controls your brain
I know better than that, thats game and we ready for that
Two soldiers head of the pack, matter of fact who got the gat?
And where my army at?
Rather attack and not react
Back the beats, it dont reflect on how many records get sold
On sex, drugs, and rock and roll, whether your projects put on hold
In the real world, these just people with ideas
They just like me and you when the smoke and camera disappear
Again the real world (world), its bigger than all these fake ass records
When poor folks got the millions and my womans disrespected
If you check 1,2, my word of advice to you is just relax
Just do what you got to do, if that dont work then kick the facts
If you a fighter, rider, ? bouter? , flame ignitor, crowd exciter
Or you wanna just get high, then just say it
But then if you a liar-liar, pants on fire, wolf-cry agent with a wire
Im gonna know it when I play it

Hook

Uh, who shot biggie smalls?
If we dont get them, they gonna get us all
Im down for runnin up on them crackers in they city hall
We ride for yall, all my dogs stay real
Nigga dont think these record deals gonna feed your seeds
And pay your bills because they not
Mcs get a little bit of love and think they hot
Talkin bout how much money they got, all yall records sound the same
I sick of that fake thug, r & b, rap scenario all day on the radio
Same scenes in the video, monotonous material, yall dont here me though
These record labels slang our tapes like dope
You can be next in line, and signed, and still be writing rhymes and broke
You would rather have a lexus, some justice, a dream or some substance?
A beamer, a necklace or freedom?
Still a nigga like me dont playa hate, I just stay awake
This real hip hop, and it dont stop until we get the po-po off the block
They call it....

Hook

Uh, dps got that crazy shit we keep it crunk up
John blazed and shit what

Repeat

Fake, fake, fake records

You could say that, hypothetically, i had this same problem a few months ago, and gave up!

Do you use limewire?

And yeah, fuck you Paris Hilton! Just a few months ago, searching for 'Paris' in 'songs' would have been an easy hit for the hip-hop artist, Paris. These days he's been bumped out of the results by Hiltons legion of fans :(

Yeah, how come no one talks about Emcee Lynx?

Black Dagger: The IT lyrics that you posted that said that girly men get no recognition in hip-hop or something like that is not homophobic. It's actually anti-homophobic because it is saying that it's bad that "girly men" don't get recognition in hip-hop. Also, I rap and I use the term "*****" a lot in my raps. One example is in a diss-rap I wrote about Young Joc the opening line says "I guess I don't see it *****, I should go see and optometrist". I don't use it in a sexist way, I use it as an insult that can be directed at women or men.

Black Eyed Peas Lyrics

Where Is The Love? Lyrics

What's wrong with the world, mama
People livin' like they ain't got no mamas
I think the whole world addicted to the drama
Only attracted to things that'll bring you trauma
Overseas, yeah, we try to stop terrorism
But we still got terrorists here livin'
In the USA, the big CIA
The Bloods and The Crips and the KKK
But if you only have love for your own race
Then you only leave space to discriminate
And to discriminate only generates hate
And when you hate then you're bound to get irate, yeah
Madness is what you demonstrate
And that's exactly how anger works and operates
Man, you gotta have love just to set it straight
Take control of your mind and meditate
Let your soul gravitate to the love, y'all, y'all

People killin', people dyin'
Children hurt and you hear them cryin'
Can you practice what you preach
And would you turn the other cheek

Father, Father, Father help us
Send us some guidance from above
'Cause people got me, got me questionin'
Where is the love (Love)

Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love
The love, the love

It just ain't the same, always unchanged
New days are strange, is the world insane
If love and peace is so strong
Why are there pieces of love that don't belong
Nations droppin' bombs
Chemical gasses fillin' lungs of little ones
With ongoin' sufferin' as the youth die young
So ask yourself is the lovin' really gone
So I could ask myself really what is goin' wrong
In this world that we livin' in people keep on givin'
in
Makin' wrong decisions, only visions of them dividends
Not respectin' each other, deny thy brother
A war is goin' on but the reason's undercover
The truth is kept secret, it's swept under the rug
If you never know truth then you never know love
Where's the love, y'all, come on (I don't know)
Where's the truth, y'all, come on (I don't know)
Where's the love, y'all

People killin', people dyin'
Children hurt and you hear them cryin'
Can you practice what you preach
And would you turn the other cheek

Father, Father, Father help us
Send us some guidance from above
'Cause people got me, got me questionin'
Where is the love (Love)

Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love, the love, the love?

I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder
As I'm gettin' older, y'all, people gets colder
Most of us only care about money makin'
Selfishness got us followin' our wrong direction
Wrong information always shown by the media
Negative images is the main criteria
Infecting the young minds faster than bacteria
Kids wanna act like what they see in the cinema
Yo', whatever happened to the values of humanity
Whatever happened to the fairness in equality
Instead in spreading love we spreading animosity
Lack of understanding, leading lives away from unity
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' under
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' down
There's no wonder why sometimes I'm feelin' under
Gotta keep my faith alive till love is found
Now ask yourself

Where is the love?
Where is the love?
Where is the love?
Where is the love?

Father, Father, Father help us
Send some guidance from above
'Cause people got me, got me questionin'
Where is the love?

Sing wit me y'all:
One world, one world (We only got)
One world, one world (That's all we got)
One world, one world
And something's wrong wit it (Yeah)
Something's wrong wit it (Yeah)
Something's wrong wit the wo-wo-world, yeah
We only got
(One world, one world)
That's all we got
(One world, one world)
