I'm trying to set up a collective fund to cover the legal costs of people who get sued by the RIAA, at the moment, it's just an online pledge (http://www.en-gb.pledgebank.com/downloadfund), does anybody have any experience with setting something up like this? What kind of bank account would be needed? What sort of constitution, structure, etc. is typical for initiatives like this?

For ever dollar you could collect, the RIAA can respond with a thousand. There's no point trying to beat them in court when the law, the courts, and the state are on their side.

I'm not proposing that we try to beat them in the courts. Typical settlement is a couple of grand, IIRC. With a few hundred people involved, the money can be used to at least ammeliorate the devastating effects of being thousands of pounds in debt.
