Wait.... Is he wearing an adidas jumpsuit? That's the first time I've seen him out of uniform.

Some ppl have been claiming it was a montage or digitally created (gusanos, UNIVISION, and some "experts")

Anyone agree?
I don't

Do you have any links where we can read what kind of experts they are?

I'd have to agree that some of the pictures look like a montage.

actually this one is also a montage featuring Chavez, Raul and Fidel. They had to make up some nice story, like fidel thanking Chavez for his visit, and giving him also a fake painting made by David Siquieros in 1959.

It's kinda remarkable how those people have been so consistently wrong, from celebrating in the streets over Fidel's supposed death, right down to today.

On the other hand, everything the Cuban government has said....turned out to be true. They're really not in the habit of lying.

First footage emerges of Castro since surgery

Cuban television has broadcast the first moving images of Fidel Castro since he underwent abdominal surgery two weeks ago.

The six-minute film footage shows him in bed chatting to the Venezuelan President, Hugo Chavez, during a visit to mark his 80th birthday on Sunday.

Mr Castro temporarily ceded power to his brother, Raul, when he fell ill.Source (http://www.rte.ie/news/2006/0815/cuba.html)

eating yogurt, not really hard to digest..

I must say that fidels wearing a rather phat adidas jumpsuit :P. Maybe they should do a "Man of the People" fashion line, based on fidels wardrobe

Even now, when both the video and the picture have been released. right wingers still try to set the story to their own hands and claim "The photo's have been edited"

an article about the subject on our site (in dutch) (http://www.cjb.nu/pages/fidelfotos.htm)

Well yeah, it's pretty obvious now that the photo's are authentic.

The image I reacted to was the one with Fidel and the newspaper. To me it looks like Fidel is glued to the bakground, and the newspaper is glued to Fidel's hands, but I think it happens quite often in photographies. It looked quite thin for a paper, but Granma doesn't have a lot of pages so...

I hope this picture is really taken after his surgery.

The newspp he is holding looks like it is "keyed" onto the photo...

but I think i'm guessing too much, since this photo couldn't have been "prepared" before the surgery:

So... the conclusion is: Fidel is fine ~ :P

Heck not wearing a uniform ought not be the apocalypse.

The apocalypse ought be wearing products celebrating a capitalist exploiter of the people.

I wonder how many other Cubans have access to Adidas products?

Some might arrange a deal with a tourist to trade T-shirts. And it is not uncommon for tourists to give gifts (tampons, various medicine, clothes etc.) to those who work in the hotels and so on.

Chavez is a great friend, giving you stuff, trading well, visiting you in the hospital with a portrait.

I wish he were my friend, he'd be funny as hell down at the bar!

I just hope I'm wrong and it's not a stroke, which would be basically the same thing as him being dead.

Either way, I think the transition might be permanent.

That might be. The man is 79, so slow recovery, interactions of different health problems, development of new health problems, etc., are very possible.

But heck, even if the worst happens.....if I live so long, and accomplish a tiny fraction as much, I'll be able to die happy.
