I am not very familiar with communism or socialism, but I have been led to believe that in communism, everyone will be allowed to take up whatever profession they would like, because this is the only way the society will prosper. However, I was wondering how you would avoid having a generation full of pop singers and rock guitarists which has very little manual labor and few people to do the dirty jobs. I know how capitalism avoids this problem, but I cannot seem to find a way that communism would avoid this without restricting the number of people who can become singers or musicians or people who work in other professions that are highly desirable but less useful, which I believe would lead to jealousy. Any help is greatly appreciated.
