Question regarding capitalism, foreign investment

Why is it that nations like China has gained so much from capitalism the past years, while other nations, say Venezuela, Russia, Bolivia etc. etc. generally a lot of developing countries, have gained nothing but misery?

How come China is rising like a giant, apparently thanks to capitalism, yet in other places capitalism simply keeps people in a primtive state?

Thats like asking why workers are poor and CEOs rich. Amongst the nations which follow the capitalist economic system, there are the nations that are home to the bourgeois, the imperialist nations, and the nations they exploit.
