Can anyone give me some info on the far-left in the USA. What parties there are? Are they trot, maoist, etc... and which group is the largest in members.

My favorite Marxist group in the US is the Workers World Party (http://www.workers.org/wwp.php). I am not a cadre or anything; I just donate money for their newspaper (http://www.workers.org/ww/), (which is the best newspaper in the US, IMO).

The AIM (American Indian Movement) is probably leftist as well. For more than 20 years now they locked up Leonard Peltier (one of their leaders). Of cource he was accused by made-up charged. (killed a fbi-goon).

I disagree... the Peace & Freedom Part in California is the largest party, if you include registered voters which makes it over 100,000. The Democratic Socialists of America is the largest group by membership numbers, though the right-wing of the Left movement.

The Communist Party is definitely not the most legit, let alone radical -- the CP endorses and supports the Democratic Party in elections and has for over a decade.

The CPUSA is a bunch of whining Leninists. I heard a great joke about them:

The Communist Party USA, doing what it does best; arguing over Marxian dialectics, and periodically kicking each other out of the group.

You'll only get that if you know the CPUSA's history. ;)

The "http://socialists.org" link isn't the SP-America...there is no Socialist Party of America. Only an SP-USA. That link is to some pro-Chinese page but I recomend watching the videos of Sydnie Gluck worship the Chinese system...interesting...
