moving to london

:( :unsure: in a bit over a year i am moving to london and need some help in regards to looking for a squat or something. and i'm coming from a home with parents who support me so i'll need a bit of help and advice in regards to surviving those couple of years or how long i'm there. i don't even really know what i need to take. of course other than a pack, clothes and sleeping bag.
any advice or helpful offers would be appreciated.
