Hey all, my name is Miguel im from Melbourne in Victoria, Australia. Although my history lies in both Spain and Italy. I'm 19 years old and currently at Uni, and consider my self to be a Marxist-Lenninist. I found my passion for Communism after devoting all my spare time to learn as much as possible about one of the greatest revolutionaries to ever put foot on this earth (Che).
My grandfather, although from a fascist capital at his time (Madrid), is a great inspiration to me as he was a very active member of the Communist party in Australia when he migrated here. My great grandfather was put on deathrow many years ago in Madrid for being a suspected Communist but fortunately was released after 7 years.
Sorry if i've bored you but this only explains the foundations for my leftist views and complete disdain for capitalism/imperialism.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. Hopefully this forum will help to educate me so I can become involved in more in depth conversations with you all.

I do question the use of this term in relation to them being politically active, as opposed to actively existing.
I'm from Melbourne too. I have a few friends that go to Latrobe, Bundoora. Seems to be at least slightly progressive.
Welcome to the site!

Im undertaking a bachelor of health sciences which is practically something for me to keep myself busy for a year before hopefully getting a transfer into physiotherapy.
Would you happen to have any links or contacts to the branch in Melbourne? I wouldn't mind becoming a little more involved.

I live in Alphington, which is on the opposite side of Fairfield to Northcote. Yourself? Do you get involved with any of the socialist groups here (you're a socialist i gather)? I'm an anarchist, so I'm involved with Barricade Books.

I live in Taylors Lakes, a little area close to Sunshine or St. Albans if you have heard of them. All western suburbs if you haven't. Unfortunately, it wasn't until a few weeks ago that I decided to make a few real steps towards becoming involved but at the moment i'm looking to becoming involved in the Communist Party located in Melbourne (thanks to Hiero for the info).

There are a lot of Australians. And I recommend that you post in the Aus/NZ (http://www.revolutionaryleft.com/index.php?showtopic=36477&st=350#) thread so that we know who you are. Then you could arrange to meet up if you feel your politics are compatible.
Greetings and welcomes fellow aussie!
Good to see another one on, but im the only South Australia it seems...
I should move to a bigger city... :(

From Melb eh? What you do with yourself here? Does your avatar entail you're anarchist? And if so, do you know the barricade books collective?
