Does anyone know an accessible source for that term and definition? I know what it's on about i just need a source to be able to use it.
yer and to justify this as a thread, what do you think of Confirmation holism as an account of scientific knowledge.

Isn't it part of the Quine-Duhem thesis?
When you say you want a source, do you mean you want references to the literature?

yes to both. i've always heard it refered to as confirmation Holism or confirmational holism but i've never come across the term in literature rather only on websites.

I have to say that I have not either.
Perhaps it is in one of the references this particular author cited (the one at Wiki)???
On edit:
No, I do not think it is -- I have read all the ones he/she cites, and cannot recall it being used there; I haven't ckecked the Curd ref, but I will do so now.
Get back to you in a min.
Second edit:
I have checked Curd's summary in Curd and Cover (which I can recommend as an excellent survey), but cannot find this term anywhere in it, or in the rest of the book (having checked the Index, too).
