The lack of media coverage has left me with very little information for me to make any informed opinions. I would like to learn more though. If you know any links please post em. Who exactly is Chavez and what is he planning to do with the country.

I live in Venezuela.

I'm tired of writing 3 page repetetive replies to the Venezuela question so I'm going right to the point.

Chavez is a democraticly elected president.
He is not a communist but he is a leftist.
Hispals are Fidel, Jatami and alot of other leaders of countries the US would label "terrorist" or "evil".

What he is doing with the bolivarian revolution is to create a program that integrates the poor (that are80% of the venezuelan population), to the venezuelan society.

His projects are similar to what the cubans did at the start of their revolution, so much so that the cubans assist with advisers.

Chavez gets his support from the poor and the oposition from rich bussinessmen with conection to the CIA.

Everything the venezuelan private media says is bullshit, since they have a "leftist boycott on the news".

The situacion is very tense but the two sides have managed an agrrement to settle the matter by an electoral solution.

The oposition only has one thing in It's agenda regain power and trow the poor back into their past unimportance.
