Gold Against The Soul

I would be interested to hear some views with regards to economic migration and where we as Socialists, should stand on this whole issue. Currently, I find it very difficult to support the idea of open borders and free movement of all, which is espoused by so many.
Why I'm against :
Quite simply, It is surely not good for people to have to have to travel thousands of miles around the world, to find better paid work?. There are clear instances now of countries who have a shortage of doctors because they've have moved on to countries where the pay is better. Or worst still, there are skilled people from poorer countries who find that they get better paid for doing less socially important jobs, in richer countries. Surely this is all terrible and we should be opposed to it?.
